Ace felt down for a while, but then the resilient fellow bounced back. His goal in life was to help Pops become the Pirate King! At that moment, he reaffirmed his dream!
Seeing that Whitebeard had returned, Su Yu said:
"Whitebeard, looks like you have some family business to deal with next, so I'll be heading off."
Whitebeard made no attempt to keep Su Yu when he heard he was leaving. After all, just as Su Yu had said, he had some family business to handle next. Although Su Yu's strength had earned their respect, he was still an outsider, which made things somewhat awkward.
"Take care, Mr. Su Yu. We truly failed to entertain you properly this time. Next time, we'll prepare some fine wine for you!"
For Whitebeard to say something like that, even offering to bring out fine wine, showed just how highly he regarded Su Yu.
"Not at all. Thanks to you, I got to watch quite a show."
Su Yu's words left Whitebeard smiling wryly. You got to watch quite a show, all right, but putting on that 'performance' took everything we had. We were really risking our lives to 'act'!
Su Yu paid no attention to their reactions. After saying that, he raised a hand and swiped through the air. A spatial passage appeared out of thin air, and he immediately stepped into it.
But after putting one foot inside, Su Yu stopped as though he had remembered something, then turned to Whitebeard and said:
"Oh, right, Whitebeard. Have you noticed that Ace calls you Pops, but calls Garp Grandpa...?"
After saying that, Su Yu gave a wicked smile, then lingered no longer, disappearing into the spatial passage.
Hearing those words, Whitebeard felt as though a bolt of lightning had flashed through his mind.
