Because Su Yu was still standing there, his expression unchanged, without the slightest discomfort.
Endurance could not explain this. After all, his heart had been pierced!
No, that was not right either. His ritual was complete, and so was his transformation, so the ability had activated successfully. But the damage from piercing his heart was not enough to kill Su Yu!
A thought suddenly flashed through Hidan's mind-
"Hey! Don't tell me you worship my god too!"
As far as Hidan knew, this was the only explanation for the strange phenomenon before him. After all, in his eyes, only the god he worshipped could grant immortality.
Hearing Hidan's words, Su Yu rolled his eyes and scoffed, "Heh, the god you worship isn't worthy of my worship!"
That was the truth. Given Su Yu's standing, it would have been more fitting for Hidan's god to worship him!
But to Hidan's ears, those words were an insult to the god he worshipped. This was trampling on his faith!
Could he tolerate that? Of course not!
So Hidan erupted on the spot. "You dare insult my god? Die!"
By now, anger had completely consumed Hidan. Without considering the gap in strength between himself and his enemy at all, he charged forward like a moth to a flame.
Meanwhile, at Konoha's entrance, the battle was nearing its end.
Though Kakuzu was strong, and so were his masked monsters, they were nowhere near the level of Madara Uchiha or the First, who could disregard sheer numbers.
So, through the all-out cooperation of the Konoha ninja, the hearts of the water- and lightning-nature masked monsters were shattered. Seeing that things were going badly, Kakuzu decisively withdrew.
