Shinra Tensei was the ultimate expression of repulsive force, fully capable of keeping every bit of an explosion's impact at bay.
So Six Paths remained utterly calm, standing there like a dead man.
But while he had the strength to stay calm, the others certainly did not.
They had already cursed Deidara and his entire ancestral line in their minds. Kakuzu, especially, really wanted to bring Deidara back to life just to kill him again!
Then he would have Sasori turn him into a puppet and kill him once more!
But all that would have to wait. The most important thing now was to survive the explosion first.
They did not dare attack Deidara as he was now. After all, he looked terrifying enough already. It would be bad if they made him explode early.
Kisame took Samehada off his back and unwrapped the bandages, revealing its true form. Then he raised it and thrust it into himself. Anyone who did not know better would have thought he was tired of living and wanted to kill himself.
But, miraculously, Samehada did not harm Kisame's body. Instead, it fused with him!
Kisame's body was like seawater as Samehada plunged headfirst into it. His form immediately began to change as well, becoming something like a hybrid of a shark and a human.
Kisame: I'm giving up being human!
Once his transformation was complete, Kisame stood in front of Itachi, subtly shielding him.
Just then, Kisame suddenly noticed out of the corner of his eye that a red skeleton had enveloped him. He looked up and saw powerful chakra rising around the bones like flames.
He turned and saw Itachi nod at him.
"Heh, you really are astonishing, Mr. Itachi!"
*Even I find the density of that chakra skeleton alarming. Is this another
