In an instant, the lightning spear collided with the light cannon.
No, "collided" was not quite the right word.
The instant they touched, the light cannon melted away like ice and snow against red-hot iron, offering no resistance whatsoever.
The spear shot upward, annihilating all the light cannon's energy before finally piercing the enormous cannon and reducing it to nothingness.
Tony panted as he stared at the empty space before him.
He had already expended a great deal of energy earlier, and this Spear of Thunder had consumed another half of his energy.
He had barely any energy left.
"Whew... so even at full strength, I can only use the Spear of Thunder twice, or the Forest of Thunder three times..." Tony muttered to himself, then plopped down on the ground.
Meanwhile, the armored man lost consciousness the instant the Spear of Thunder struck him, without feeling any pain.
When he woke again, he was already back home.
"Looks like I failed..." the armored man murmured, but he showed no dejection.
After all, controlling countless nanomechanical insects had left his emotions very faint.
So after discovering that he had failed, he remained perfectly calm, turned around, and went straight into his laboratory to begin his research.
Steve was lucky. His opponent had only just reached Tier Three.
He won the battle without much effort at all.
Natasha and Banner were just as lucky.
Banner's opponent was only at Tier Two. Heaven only knew how that Tier Two felt after Banner stood still and let him bombard him for ages without breaking through his defenses, with even his strongest attack failing to leave a pale mark on Banner's armor.
He might have lost all hope for this world...
Hawkeye, however, faced a very powerful opponent who was also an archer.
