A little paw rose, as though she intended to swat his face. When she saw Edward suddenly open his eyes, she immediately turned the motion into washing her face as if nothing had happened.
"Oh, you."
He gently flicked her forehead. Lilith stopped pretending and asked curiously, "Edward, where did you go just now?"
"Nowhere. Haven't you been sitting on me the whole time?"
"That's not it."
She waved her little paw. "You clearly weren't here just now!"
She could not quite express it accurately.
"Hmm, I'll let you in on a secret. This is a special ability of mine called Astral Projection."
Edward lowered his voice and said with every appearance of seriousness, "Everyone consists of a body and a soul. Just now, I used Astral Projection to travel all over Bayam in a short time."
"Wow! Can I do it too?" Her eyes sparkled. "Then I could find out where the most rats are in no time!"
"Uh."
"Teach Miss Lilith!"
"Only humans can learn this trick. I'll teach you when you turn into a human."
"But Miss Lilith is a cat."
Edward rubbed her forehead a couple of times and smiled. "Once you advance to Sequence 7, you might be able to turn into a human~ So work hard and hurry up with digesting your potion."
"Wooo."
Lilith immediately lost interest. She lightly leaped onto the windowsill and began basking in the sun.
"This little thing..."
Edward got up, took out the Hand of Glory, and sacrificed it to Mr. Fool through a ritual. This time, he turned his attention to the Invisibility Cloak in his hands, which looked as though it had been woven from water. Unsurprisingly, it too had become a Beyonder Characteristic and gained three abilities:
First, [Invisibility]. Wearing it granted invisibility, and continually
