For this shopping trip, Edward's main goal was to buy every kind of machinery and electronic product available on the market, while also starting to purchase grain.
Most of the Goddess's Shopping List consisted of electronic or mechanical products, along with all kinds of related technologies and principles. As for grain, the Goddess had explicitly noted on the list that he should buy as much as possible. This was clearly preparation for the war that would follow the tide of the times.
Whether her original intention was to stabilize her anchors or out of sympathy for ordinary people, the end result would benefit ordinary people, so Edward was happy to help.
But when it came to actually doing it, he discovered it was not so simple. Within certain quantities, grain merchants naturally welcomed any purchase. Business was business; all that mattered was making money.
Once purchases exceeded a certain amount, however, they attracted attention. Either people refused to sell, or investigations by the relevant authorities followed.
"This won't work. Looks like next time we'll have to buy grain in another city... no, another country."
"Where should we go?"
"France, Romania, Moldova... those are all major grain-producing countries in Europe. If we move to a new city after each purchase, we shouldn't attract too much attention."
Audrey asked worriedly, "Do you still have enough money?"
Edward spread his hands. "Of course not. Trying to save the people of a city, or even a country, with just a few people's resources isn't very realistic!" -If not for the contribution from Bellatrix's vault, he wouldn't have had a damn penny to buy grain!
She puffed out her cheeks. "Daddy could do it!"
