Whooo~
With a long roar, the steam train slowly pulled into Tingen City's station, trailing black smoke.
Klein jumped down from the train with a suitcase in hand. He had returned after nearly two months, but he had changed into someone else now. Even if he stood before Benson and Melissa, they would not recognize him.
Yes.
Last night, he had successfully advanced to Sequence 6, Faceless.
Although he had already decided to head out to sea to act, after much hesitation, Klein had still decided to return to Tingen. Even now, however, he had not decided whether to reveal himself to his brother and sister and tell them the truth.
Previously, he had worried that his "return from the dead" would bring trouble to his siblings. Now, he felt that being a Beyonder was trouble in itself.
But what Edward had said was also true. If this world really were peaceful, it would actually be quite nice for Benson and Melissa to live simple, safe lives as ordinary people.
But was this world really peaceful?
Were ordinary people really safer than Beyonders?
Not necessarily!
Take the Great Smog Incident. Its cause had absolutely nothing to do with ordinary people-just because an emperor wanted to achieve apotheosis and a Demoness wanted to digest her potion, tens of thousands of innocent people had lost their lives without knowing why.
In a situation like that, Beyonders actually had a chance of surviving.
Then could the Backlund Incident happen again in Tingen?
No! Tingen had already suffered a similar catastrophe, but the Nighthawks had stopped it. Otherwise, who knew how many people would have died?
At that thought, the scales in Klein's heart gradually tipped. He tightened his grip on his suitcase handle and followed the crowd out of the station.
Daffodil Street.
