Going out to sea?
Edward froze. "All right, then. Good luck to you."
"As for you..." The man in the black trench coat turned to the boy. "Come with me for now."
"Thank you, thank you."
Watching them leave, Lilith asked curiously, "Edward, are we really not following them?"
"Of course not. But we can get to the pier ahead of them and wait there."
With that, the two used Apparition to reach the pier and walked into a dilapidated hall.
Compared with the bustling ticket hall at Pritz Harbor, this place was clearly far quieter. Mainly, Cecil Port had long been in a semi-abandoned state. Even when a ship occasionally came, it only docked to replenish supplies.
Although there had been more pirates lately, those fellows clearly had no need to buy tickets.
They asked at the sole ticket window, and sure enough, the next ship would not arrive for another week.
The adult and child sat down on the steps outside the hall, watching the people passing along the pier and the ships coming and going.
Half an hour later, five figures approached from the distance, heading straight for a small white passenger ship moored at the pier.
The man in the black trench coat paused slightly when he saw the two sitting on the steps, but said nothing. Just then, Lilith burst into tears:
"Waaah, I want to go home! I don't want to stay here anymore! I want to go home!"
Edward stroked her head and said gently, "We will, we will. The next passenger ship will be here in another week, and then we'll go home."
"Waaah, no! I'm scared! There are pirates everywhere here! Waaah, I'm scared!"
"It's all right. It's all right."
"Waaah~ Boo-hoo!"
One of the four, a girl, immediately looked sympathetic.
