A moment later,
"...That's not entirely true."
Edward took out the Book of Calamity.
When he had first obtained it, he had known it contained records of some Beyonder abilities the Calamity Queen had once used. But he had the Sea God Scepter then, and recording the abilities required learning Elvish first, so he had set it aside for the time being.
Soon afterward, he had obtained the Tyrant Card, so the abilities in this book had naturally become meaningless to him. He had never expected it to become his "lifeline" now.
With this, he would at least possess the strength of a half-god of both the Storm and Door pathways. Under ordinary circumstances, protecting himself should not be much of a problem.
He could not help but inwardly breathe a sigh of relief.
The next thing to consider was which ability he should choose for [Solidification].
Speaking of which, the ability Edward used most often had to be [Amplification]. He mostly used it as a buff, amplifying his magic or other abilities before using them.
Next was [Distortion]. This ability could attack, defend, and provide support. It was incredibly handy.
After that came [Theft], which he had used before. Everyone who used this core ability of the Marauder Pathway would sing its praises. But as the enemies he faced grew too powerful, [Theft], which was only at the Sequence 5 level, had found few opportunities to shine.
Aside from these three abilities, he used his other Beyonder abilities too, but far less frequently and to much less effect.
So, which should he choose?
Amplification was versatile and especially well suited to his magic;
Distortion was practical and frequently useful both in and out of combat.
So...
After several minutes of consideration-
[Theft]!
As the Marauder Pathway's signature ability, [Theft]
