"Edward, you're back!"
Edward patted Lilith's head. "Yes. Good evening, Professor."
Dumbledore smiled. "It looks like your trip went fairly smoothly?"
"Yes."
The Evernight Goddess asked evenly, "You saw him."
Edward turned to look at her. "Yes, I did. And I more or less have an answer to the question you asked me to pass on."
She watched Edward calmly, waiting for his answer.
"Once I advance to Sequence 0, he won't need the River of Eternal Darkness anymore. You'll naturally be able to take it then."
The implication was clear: if she wanted the River of Eternal Darkness, she would at least have to refrain from interfering with his advancement to Sequence 0.
The Evernight Goddess showed no surprise and merely nodded calmly. "Understood."
Lilith asked quietly, "Edward, what exactly did you encounter in there? And what's the situation with 'That Person'?"
"I'll tell you all about it later."
Realization dawned on Lilith as she glanced at the Evernight Goddess. "Oh, I forgot Amanises was still here. We can talk after she leaves."
Edward smiled. "In short, I basically know everything I need to know. I've also established a temporary partnership with 'That Person.' From here on, I have just one goal: to advance to Sequence 0 as soon as possible, so I can face the coming crisis."
"Oh, right, Edward. Something just happened."
Lilith then recounted what had just happened. After hearing her out, Edward frowned and exchanged a look with the Evernight Goddess. No matter how you look at it, that 'Creator' must have done this.
But what is he trying to hide by doing this?
He clearly knows I haven't completely believed what he said. Doesn't he realize this will only deepen my suspicions of him?

Night had fallen.
After
