Chapter Summaries

At a Twilight Hermit Order gathering, Edward volunteered to investigate a new resident at a Trier villa after learning Mr. Intis had hidden something beneath it. He also asked about the Dream Weaver, the Abraham Family, and Lilith, but left without clear answers.

• Hermes offered a free favor to anyone who found a clue about the Mind Dragon, and Edward suspected Ariehogg's unusual activity might relate to him.
• Mr. Intis asked the group to investigate the new resident at 7 Rose Street in Trier, where he had hidden something beneath the villa.
• Edward agreed to investigate in exchange for information about a Wanderer or Dream Weaver, and Intis offered possible Fourth Epoch ruins as payment.
• Edward confirmed that he could take whatever Intis had hidden beneath the villa and suspected it was connected to an earlier murder.
• Edward asked the Demoness whether she knew a Demoness named Lilith, and she questioned whether that was the woman's real name.

Edward attended his first Twilight Hermit Order gathering, where Hermes assigned missions involving Loen’s reforms and Roselle’s safety, then returned to Sefirah Castle and considered the Order’s motives. Elsewhere, Dubois stole a suit from a Trier tailor, while Bernadette woke up delighted by her previous night’s sea voyage and hoped to ask Mr. Sparrow to take her out again.

• Hermes announced plans to assassinate the Grand Duke of Loenclu, support rising nobles in Loen, and protect Roselle from the Conservatives led by Earl Clear.

Edward discovered a concealed basement mechanism at the villa, then responded when young Bernadette asked him to take her away from home. He followed Matilda’s location with Bernadette to find out whether her mother was really on a date with another man.

Edward summoned Roselle and revealed that a Silver Medal had brought him to the Divine Kingdom, then tasked him with stealing money from a church. Roselle sought help from the Church, while Edward later visited a horse race with Akasha and Rallard.

• Roselle asked Edward how he had reached the Divine Kingdom, and Edward said a Silver Medal engraved with Special Symbols had connected him to it.
• Edward told Roselle to steal 100 Verl D'Or from a Church of the God of Steam and Machinery, then ended their connection and noticed his Spirit Mage and Secrets Sorcerer potions had digested slightly.

Klein tracked down Winter and learned that the Witch had appeared in different forms, then met a modern-dressed girl who revealed she was filming a prank and called him Mr. Fool. The story then shifted to Trier in 1160, where Edward prepared to attend a banquet while leaving the Sanguine siblings at home.

• Klein questioned Winter, who said the Witch had returned what she took from him and recommended that Klein visit Puluo's house.
• Klein went to Puluo's house and saw a girl dressed in modern clothes, whom he suspected was a fellow transmigrator.
• The girl staged a scene in which black flames consumed her, then revealed she was recording Klein and called him Mr. Fool before disappearing.
• In Trier in 1160, Edward dressed for a banquet and refused Akasha and the other Sanguine sibling's requests to join him.

Edward secured a five-year rental contract for the villa at 28 Emerald Street, unaware that its owner Marcia and her knight Tarik were watching him for signs of trouble. Later, he attended Roselle’s banquet with Dubois, where Roselle greeted him warmly and tried to persuade him to dismiss Dubois.

• Edward and Dubois visited Marcia, who offered Edward the villa at 28 Emerald Street for three verl d'or a week, payable five years at a time, and he signed the contract.
• Marcia asked Dubois to work for her, but he promised to serve Edward for at least a year before considering it.

Roselle reported that he had completed Edward’s task and asked for a faster way to grow stronger, but rejected the dangerous option Edward offered. Meanwhile, the Demoness Church investigated 7 Rose Street, and Edward gave Dubois the Spectator formula and a Beyonder characteristic.

• Roselle entered Sefirah Castle and told Edward he had raised the 100 Verl D'Or through donations at his banquet.

Edward wondered why meeting Medici had digested part of his Spirit Mage potion, while in 1349 Medici received Ince Zangwill’s offer to free him if he took Priscilla to Saint Millon. At the Tarot Club, Emlyn joined as Mr. Moon, Klein read Roselle’s diary pages, and Derrick asked how to handle his next mission.

• Derrick received advice from The Fool and Alger about communicating with Elder Lovia regarding the True Creator.
• Emlyn admitted he was a pure-blooded Sanguine, and Alger explained that Sanguine could advance through potions and offered a lead on a Baron’s characteristic for 4,000 to 5,000 pounds.
• World presented a photograph of the woman he had met on Symeem Island and asked the Tarot Club to find her, explaining that he suspected she came from his homeland.
• Audrey asked why World thought the woman was from his homeland, and he answered that it was because of her clothes.
