Some readers might be asking right about now, "Author, author, why was today's update so late?" Well, let me tell you,
It was because a basilisk almost came into being in my home!
Here was what happened: after I got home very, very late, I dragged my exhausted body toward the fridge to get a drink before settling down to write the update, when a tiny black shape suddenly sprang into motion in the dim light, startling me so badly I nearly spilled the coffee in my hand!
I took a closer look, and hey, it was actually a little toad-for a bipedal ape like me, a little toad was nothing, of course. As long as it wasn't one of those antenna-sporting House-elves from Guangdong and Guangxi, I wasn't scared. But then I noticed-
That little toad just happened to be sitting right on top of the two trays of eggs on my floor!
As a Magizoologist, I immediately broke out in a cold sweat down my back, because I realized something: it looked like my home was about to have a basilisk problem!
Luckily, with the help of an empty coffee can and some gloves, I arrested that scandalous little toad on the spot-fortunately, after taking a careful look, I discovered that the little fellow wasn't a toad at all, but a frog-everything above really happened, without a word of fabrication.
Let me post a linked bonus chapter so you can see the pictures.
Update: wonderful. I discovered that because this book was such a flop, it had no operating funds, so you won't get to see the little frog's pictures-in short, it looked so, so much like a leaf, and its eyes kept blinking. Super cute.
