"Miss Granger, and you two gentlemen, is there something you need?" After seeing Headmistress Stuart out, Professor McGonagall closed the office door before turning to Harry and the others with a warm smile.
Teachers always tended to be rather fond of top students.
And Harry and his two friends certainly qualified as outstanding students, at least in Transfiguration. As a result, ever since their second year, Professor McGonagall, who was always stern with everyone else, had smiled a little more around the three of them.
"Professor, there are a few things we'd like to ask you." Harry and his friends first greeted the other professors in the room before explaining why they had come.
When she heard that Harry and Ron had already deciphered part of the clue to the Second Task, Professor Sprout beamed.
"Well done, Potter and Weasley. Of course, I know Granger must have played a part in this too. Ha! Stuart was just telling me that their two champions still hadn't made any headway."
Clearly, although quite a few young Hufflepuff wizards were unhappy that the two Gryffindor champions had "stolen" the title they believed should have belonged to Cedric, Professor Sprout had no such thoughts.
Of course, it would have been impossible to say that she felt no regret for Cedric at all. After all, he was also a student she was very fond of.
The three youngsters were delighted by the professor's praise.
"For Runes, you really ought to see Babbling, but... well, she is rather difficult to find." Professor McGonagall shook her head with a smile, then took the runes Harry and his friends had copied from the little dragon's belly.
After just one glance, Professor McGonagall smiled. "Fortunately, these aren't too difficult. Hmm, let me analyze the grammar and phrasing a little."
