On May 27, the sixth task of the First Magic Cup tournament, which was also the Champions' fifth task, took place.

The Golden Apple from after the Fourth Task had been rated the most fiendish clue of all by almost every Champion interviewed during and after that period. Even two or three days before the fifth task began, five schools still had not cracked the clue.

The only two to have solved it before then seemed to be Hogwarts and Durmstrang.

It was worth mentioning that Hogwarts had solved the clue before the Easter holidays ended, while Durmstrang had been a little slower. Some suspected that Krum had asked Hermione for help.

Harry and Ron, however, both knew that Hermione had solved their clue. But Durmstrang's answer had not come from Hermione telling Krum. It seemed that Julianne Sirtute had brought the answer back with her when she returned to Hogwarts.

Harry and Ron seemed full of confidence about the task, clearly having prepared very thoroughly.

In fact, Harry and Ron had been brimming with confidence ever since Hermione cracked the Golden Apple and they obtained the clue. To them, this task practically played straight into their hands.

Harry and Ron were not particularly confident about competing in ordinary magic.

But this task involved something they were exceptionally good at.
