"I heard Fred say Pheobe's been here for months already, hasn't she?" Harry asked Ron in some puzzlement as he lay in bed after dinner.
Although Weasley Manor had plenty of rooms, Harry and Ron were close friends and did not mind sharing a room at all. They were even quite happy to do so. Of course, there had to be two beds!
On that point, both Harry and Ron were adamant.
"Yeah..." Ron's voice sounded a little distant.
"And you still haven't got used to her?" Harry found this very amusing.
Ron and Lavender had got together during the Triwizard Tournament in their fourth year.
More precisely, it had been before Christmas that year. Thanks to the Yule Ball, Lavender had rescued Ron, who had been on the verge of falling apart, and the two had got together afterward.
Their relationship was very good now, but as Ron's best friend, Harry clearly remembered how infatuated Ron had once been with Pheobe.
Their first meeting had been when the delegations from the other schools had just arrived at Hogwarts. Harry still clearly remembered Pheobe coming over to their table to ask for some French soup. Ron had simply stared.
Harry had actually stared too, but he deliberately overlooked that detail.
Later, when the ball was announced, Pheobe had been the first person Ron thought of, but his invitation had failed.
Except, according to Ginny, who had been there at the time, Pheobe had not actually rejected Ron. Ron had spoken so loudly that he had startled her.
Then he had run off himself.
It had been utterly ridiculous.
Although Ron and Lavender's relationship was steady, Harry did not believe Ron had forgotten how stunning Pheobe was. After all, his own relationship with Qiu was so good, yet even he could
