"Neville, this is a bit of a surprise, isn't it?" Who was Harry?

The number one sarcastic jerk in Gryffindor, if not all of Hogwarts. The moment he saw Neville arrive with Daphne Greengrass, he went straight over and looked at the two of them teasingly.

"Ah, Harry, you're here too..." As soon as Neville saw Harry coming over, his gaze began to wander.

Daphne, on the other hand, nodded openly to Harry when he approached. "Hi, Potter, and Qiu. Good evening."

"Good evening." Qiu nodded with a smile.

Seeing that Neville wouldn't speak and Daphne wouldn't blush, Harry promptly lost interest. After exchanging a few pleasantries, he went back to sit off to one side with Qiu. Then he watched Neville and Daphne enter the room together and find somewhere to sit.

Unlike the other boys and girls who had arrived together, Neville and Daphne still kept a little distance between them, even though they were each other's dates. They weren't even holding hands.

Harry and the others had long known that Daphne seemed interested in Neville. It wasn't just Daphne, either; there was another girl from Hufflepuff. Clearly, though, Daphne currently had a slight edge in the "Neville Contest."

"Hey, how did Neville end up coming with Daphne?" Harry asked, a little puzzled. Although he had known about this for a while, personally, he had thought the Hufflepuff girl had a better chance.

Neville was usually quiet and rather down-to-earth. And at least seven or eight out of every ten Hufflepuff students were the sort who might as well have had "down-to-earth" written across their foreheads.

The girl who seemed interested in Neville, Hannah Abbott, was one of them.

Harry felt that, since their personalities were similar, they ought to have found it easier to get together.
