Over the days that followed, Wang Yang continued training with the aid of the potion.
Both his body and his magic made tremendous progress.
Tap, tap, tap!
Just then, footsteps rang out.
Wang Yang looked over and saw Wong walking toward him.
"Master, what brings you here?"
When Wong saw the sweat on Wang Yang's body, satisfaction showed on his face.
He could tell that Wang Yang had been training all along, and he was very pleased.
"I came to see how your training was going!"
"But it looks like you've been working very hard. Good!"
Wong nodded, his expression impassive.
"Still, remember to balance training with rest. Pushing yourself relentlessly isn't a good thing!"
Wang Yang nodded, then said, "I understand, Master. Thank you for your guidance!"
"Good. Very good. Come with me!"
Wong nodded and raised his hand to open the Mirror Dimension.
Without the slightest hesitation, Wang Yang changed his clothes and followed him straight through the Portal.
The two entered the Mirror Dimension once again.
Wong stood there.
He addressed Wang Yang.
"Show me your magic. As a sorcerer, your foundation is important!"
"If your foundation isn't solid enough, everything else is just a castle in the air. So let me see how well you've mastered your magic."
Wong's expression turned serious.
Many geniuses actually shared the same flaw: they were too eager for quick results. They might master their early spells quickly, but constantly chasing new magic would only leave their foundation unstable.
When battle came, they would naturally suffer the consequences.
There were few Masters of the Mystic Arts in Kamar-Taj. One reason was that talented students lacked solid foundations; the other was that they died in battle.
"Go ahead. Start with the basic spells!"
Wong added another instruction.
"All right. Please guide me, Master!"
Wang Yang knew that Wong was doing this out of concern for his training.
After replying respectfully, Wang Yang began his demonstration.
Naturally, the first spell he cast was the first one he had learned: the Magic Shield.
The Magic Light Line wasn't a true spell, but rather a starting point for magic.
Through Wang Yang's improvements and changes to its underlying magic runes, the Magic Shield had become his highest-level spell.
A hum rang out.
An ornate Magic Shield appeared in his hand.
The runes on it were intricate, their arrangement exceptionally precise and sound.
Silently, it also exuded an incomparably profound air.
Wong had been waiting for Wang Yang to cast his magic, but when he saw this spell, the corner of his mouth twitched.
Although there was no formal ranking for the power of spells, their strength could vary.
With time and repeated casting, spells would gradually grow stronger. Some sorcerers could even use magic runes to reshape the Magic Shield.
At his level, however, judging a spell's strength was naturally no problem. He had the experience.
The Magic Shield was one of Kamar-Taj's most basic spells, and most people could master it.
But increasing its power was something they could only achieve gradually.
Judging by his experience, Wang Yang's mastery of the spell had probably surpassed that of most veteran sorcerers.
That should have been impossible.
He truly was a genius who defied conventional reasoning.
Even so, Wong merely nodded and said, "Good. Your mastery is fairly decent!"
"However, there are still some problems with the runes in a few places!"
As he spoke, Wong gave Wang Yang some pointers.
Combining them with his own understanding, Wang Yang readily resolved several points that had still been unclear to him.
In the blink of an eye, the runes on his Magic Shield rearranged themselves according to his own approach.
In an instant, Wang Yang's Magic Shield became more complex.
It seemed to have improved tremendously yet again in that brief span.
Seeing this, Wong didn't know whether to be happy or frustrated.
What kind of comprehension was this? I'd only given him a couple of pointers, and the kid already figured it out?
Still, Wong quickly suppressed his shock and continued, "Good. You have excellent comprehension. Show me your other spells!"
At Wong's words, Wang Yang hurriedly demonstrated all his magic.
Whether it was his various spells or his combat techniques, Wang Yang had already mastered them thoroughly, leaving Wong visibly stunned.
Wang Yang had been training for only a week at most.
Yet his mastery of magic probably surpassed even that of some veteran sorcerers.
That was indeed the case. Even veteran sorcerers couldn't develop every aspect of their abilities.
After all, making a spell powerful required an enormous investment of time.
Most sorcerers therefore chose a single spell to focus on.
It could be said that every veteran sorcerer had one spell they could take pride in.
In those particular spells, they might well be stronger than Wang Yang.
But taking all their spells together, most veteran sorcerers lacked Wang Yang's level of mastery.
Probably only a Master of the Mystic Arts could compare with him.
In that short time, Wang Yang had achieved what others spent a lifetime accomplishing.
Although Wong had long known how gifted Wang Yang was, he hadn't expected his talent to be so extraordinary.
After watching Wang Yang finish his demonstration, Wong remained silent for a long time.
He kept getting the feeling that before long, Wang Yang's strength would surpass even his own as a Master of the Mystic Arts.
Naturally, Wang Yang had no idea what Wong was thinking.
He was delighted, though. Since Wong wanted to examine his grasp of the fundamentals, he clearly intended to teach him more powerful magic.
Sure enough, Wong took a deep breath and said, "Wang Yang, you've already become very proficient in your spells. It's time for me to teach you some advanced magic!"
Hearing this, Wang Yang's face lit up.
There was actually one spell he hadn't demonstrated: the Mirror Dimension.
Although he could already cast it, he hadn't yet mastered it as thoroughly as his other spells.
"Wang Yang, do you know where our power as sorcerers comes from?"
Wong looked at Wang Yang and spoke slowly.
"Cosmic energy!"
Wang Yang thought for a moment before answering slowly.
Kamar-Taj's magic was different from other forms of magic.
They absorbed cosmic energy and made it their own power.
"To be precise, it's the power of the multiverse!"
Wong first nodded, then corrected him.
"The multiverse is boundless and holds endless secrets. We are merely a group of explorers!"
With a touch of emotion, Wong said, "Countless predecessors have traveled this path. Their power was incomparably great, and they became what we call gods!"
"Sometimes, we need to draw upon their power!"
Wong looked at Wang Yang as he spoke slowly.
Wang Yang naturally knew that the Marvel Universe contained countless gods with immense power.
In a certain sense, the beings of Asgard were gods as well.
The Scarlet Witch's Chaos Magic also came from the power of a god.
Magic of that kind was extraordinarily powerful.
"Today, I'll teach you magic that comes from a certain god!"
