Regan Theodore swept his gaze over the group, then slowly began to speak. "Becoming a sorcerer isn't easy. You must show a willingness to endure hardship and persevere. And if the day comes when your gifts are needed, you must be prepared to die at any moment!"

Theodore's words brought solemn expressions to every apprentice's face. They carried real weight and an unmistakable warning.

After hearing Theodore speak, the apprentices whose faces had been filled with excitement and anticipation grew serious.

Wang Yang, too, grew serious, though he had appeared here for reasons he still couldn't explain.

Still, now that he was here, he might as well make the best of it. This was an opportunity for him.

Otherwise, if he left with only a smattering of knowledge, he probably wouldn't even be able to escape when he faced those terrifying monsters in the future.

For the sake of my own life, I have to study hard.

I might not reach Doctor Strange's level, but I should at least learn enough to protect myself.

"Very good. Next, I'll teach you the first step in learning magic!"

"Look at the rings in your hands. They're called Sling Rings. Focus your attention and silently recite the magical incantations you were taught. You may find this a little far-fetched, but think of an incantation as a key that unlocks magic!"

"Feel the energy of nature, and you'll naturally know what to do!"

Theodore explained the basics of magic, demonstrating as he spoke.

He raised his hands and closed his eyes, continuing, "Feel the energy of the world and the universe. Then use the incantation to draw out your magic and form a line of light!"

As Theodore slowly traced a horizontal line, a gleaming golden Magic Light Line appeared before him.

"Oh, that's incredible! If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I would never have believed something like this could happen right in front of me!"

"That's amazing! Is this magic?"

"Magic is incredible. I can't even imagine how that works!"

"..."

At that moment, shock and astonishment spread across every apprentice's face. Their mouths fell open as though they had just witnessed a miracle.

They immediately grew eager to try, copying Theodore's movements in the hope of drawing a Magic Light Line of their own.

But it was too difficult. They couldn't produce even a flicker of light.

None of them could do it. Only Belar, the girl who had studied magic before, slowly began spreading her hands apart as Theodore had shown them.

Whoosh!

A dim Magic Light Line appeared before the group, looking as though it might vanish at any moment.

Though Belar's Magic Light Line was dull compared to Theodore's, she had already done far better than the other apprentices.

The other apprentices immediately began working harder.

Seeing this, Theodore nodded inwardly.

He had originally thought these apprentices would be difficult to teach, but now it seemed otherwise. Every one of them followed his instructions obediently.

Seeing Belar in particular pleased him.

Belar was the daughter of a sorcerer and had already studied some magic, so naturally she was much better than apprentices who knew nothing at all.

His expression stern, he clasped his hands behind his back and barked in a low voice, "Keep at it, everyone. Focus your attention and learn from Belar!"

As he spoke, he walked past the apprentices one by one, checking their progress.

Then he spotted Wang Yang.

Wang Yang was still standing there, watching Belar and the other apprentices around him.

He showed no sign of practicing.

"Why aren't you practicing yet?"

The reprimand startled Wang Yang, pulling him out of his wandering thoughts.

He had merely been thinking about how Doctor Strange did it.

Clearly, the Magic Light Line was only the beginning. After that came the Magic Shield and portals.

He had seen how magic flowed through Theodore, as well as how it flowed through everyone else, and had become absorbed in watching.

"I'll try right now. Right now!"

Wang Yang hurriedly replied.

Seeing how obedient Wang Yang looked, Theodore nodded. The sight reminded him of when he had first entered Kamar-Taj, and his tone softened. He then said gently to Zhang Yang, "There's nothing frightening about failure. You can only learn if you have the courage to try. Don't be afraid. Keep trying!"

Theodore wasn't as strict as they had imagined, which made everyone breathe a sigh of relief.

After all, they were all practitioners, and training meant cultivating the mind as well.

Wang Yang met Theodore's gaze.

Wang Yang took a deep breath. Though he had watched the Marvel movies and seen how magic worked, this was still his first time learning it, so he couldn't help feeling nervous. After hearing Berkeley's guidance, he pushed aside his distracting thoughts and focused, concentrating fully on sensing the presence of magic as he silently recited the incantation!

He followed the way Theodore had channeled his magic.

Wang Yang raised both hands, and countless streams of magical energy instantly swirled around him.

He slowly spread his hands apart, hoping to form a yellow Magic Light Line.

Then, amid a humming sound, the Magic Light Lines began gathering together and formed a circular shield of light.

Boom!

A powerful surge of magical energy spread from his hands.

Overawed by that energy, the people around him stumbled back several steps.

A shield of light appeared in each of his hands.

Seeing this, Belar was stunned. She could scarcely believe it.

The other apprentices were dumbstruck as well. They couldn't even form a line of magic, yet he had already created a Magic Shield?

Theodore's stern expression turned to shock.

He tried hard to keep his expression under control, not wanting to react too dramatically.

But the way his pupils widened in that instant still betrayed him.

At that moment, Theodore could barely believe his own eyes.

A Magic Shield!

He was clearly following my method to gather magic and form a Magic Light Line. How did it turn into a Magic Shield in the blink of an eye?

Though a Magic Shield was still a basic spell, just a more advanced application of magical lines.

Yet the one who had accomplished this was an apprentice who had been learning magic for less than a few minutes.

After watching a single demonstration, he had actually managed to form a complete Magic Shield.

Even Theodore himself had spent a month building his foundation, drawing Magic Light Lines, and then gradually learning to form a Magic Shield.

Could this boy's talent for magic really be that extraordinary?

Was he born to practice magic?

And that's not all. His magic seems stronger than most people's. Could he be a rare magical genius?
