Several people shared a room that looked quite old.

Wang Yang stood by the window, looking out at the empty training ground nearby.

"We're so lucky to have gotten into Kamar-Taj! Do we have a chance to become sorcerers?"

"Yeah, I really hope we can learn something here. I'm just afraid we'll be sent away if we don't have enough talent!"

"..."

The others in the room were all talking at once.

Their eyes were full of anticipation, but their expressions varied. Some looked worried, others thrilled or excited.

When Wang Yang first learned that he had actually transmigrated to Kamar-Taj, he had been rather shocked.

Just the day before, he had been watching Doctor Strange. Then he had gone to sleep at home, only to open his eyes and find himself in this godforsaken place.

Wasn't Kamar-Taj a small village in the Himalayas?

It was where the Ancient One practiced and where Doctor Strange had trained before becoming the Sorcerer Supreme. Later, countless people had come seeking it out, some in pursuit of power and others looking for help. It was a sacred place for studying magic.

Wang Yang had also watched the Avengers films. This was Marvel, where alien invasions happened all the time and people with superpowers were everywhere.

Yet he was merely one ordinary person among the many who wanted to learn magic.

The people who had arrived with him were brimming with excitement and had already changed into their monk's robes, but he couldn't muster any enthusiasm.

Ding! Soul compatibility detected. Gene Fragment Fusion System successfully loaded! Nearby magical talent fragments detected. Fuse them?

Wang Yang heard the system notifications. Before he could even react with shock or disbelief, several glowing fragments appeared before him.

The fragments seemed to have fallen from the people in front of him.

Could these fragments be magical talent?

Whatever they were, he seemed to have no other choice in this dangerous world. He had to become stronger.

"Fuse!"

As soon as Wang Yang spoke, the fragments shot toward him and instantly merged into his body.

At that moment, he seemed to sense the magical fluctuations in the area.

So this is magic?

Wang Yang saw wisps of magical energy flowing around him. They seemed drawn to him, as though he could control them simply by willing it.

But without any techniques, he couldn't create a portal or cast any other spells.

"Wang Yang, what's wrong? Are you worried too?"

Just then, El, who had come here with him, patted Wang Yang on the shoulder and reassured him, "Don't worry too much!"

Seeing Wang Yang staring out the window without saying a word, he had assumed Wang Yang shared their worries about whether his talent would be enough to let him stay.

"I'm fine, El. Let's get some sleep. We have to get up early tomorrow!"

Wang Yang turned to look at El, anticipation on his face. His magical talent might not have been strong before, but after absorbing those fragments, surely it couldn't be too bad!

Wang Yang lay down on his bed and drifted off to sleep.

The next day, in the square.

Countless men and women in monk's robes gathered there.

Most were newcomers to Kamar-Taj, and all their faces showed anticipation and nervousness.

They chattered among themselves.

Suddenly, a voice rang out.

It sounded as though someone were speaking right beside each person's ear.

"What do you think Kamar-Taj is? With all this noise and no discipline, how do you expect to learn magic?"

At those words, the entire gathering fell silent.

All the new apprentices turned toward the voice at once, looking for its source.

It belonged to a tall, slender girl. Though she looked only seventeen or eighteen, she had a strikingly voluptuous figure.

Even Kamar-Taj's plain monk's robes couldn't conceal her curves. Instead, they accentuated her allure.

Yet the aloof expression on her youthful face made it clear that she was not someone to be trifled with.

"Who are you?"

A young man in the crowd looked at the girl in confusion as he questioned her.

Naturally, he resented being lectured like that by someone his own age.

"My name is Belar, and I am the future Sorcerer Supreme!"

The girl spoke with absolute confidence, her expression resolute. A powerful aura radiated from her, setting her in stark contrast to the apprentices present.

Clearly, she was an accomplished sorcerer who had trained at Kamar-Taj.

Feeling her powerful presence, the young man was somewhat intimidated.

Watching from nearby, Wang Yang could distinctly sense the magical energy flowing through Belar.

Her magical energy followed a specific pattern.

Perhaps if he made his own magical energy follow that pattern, he could use magic too.

Since he had already arrived in the Marvel Universe, he ought to learn at least a little magic first and gain some ability to protect himself.

Just then, another startled cry came from a nearby apprentice.

"Who's that? He looks so imposing! Is he a sorcerer from Kamar-Taj? Even his clothes seem different from ours!"

"..."

Wang Yang looked over as well. The man wore brown monk's robes and appeared to be in his thirties. With his hands clasped behind his back, he walked with an easy, unhurried stride.

His face was expressionless, his demeanor stern.

He looked every inch a reclusive master.

Most strikingly, his robes stirred despite the lack of wind. His powerful presence awed everyone, and the training ground, which had still been somewhat noisy, fell utterly silent.

Even Belar, who had looked down on everyone moments earlier, now stood obediently to one side.

Seeing even Belar behave like that, the others naturally fell silent as well.

The man approached slowly, his piercing gaze moving across the crowd before sweeping over all the apprentices on the training ground.

"My name is Regan Theodore. You can call me Senior Brother Theodore. I'll be teaching you magic!"

Regan Theodore?

Wang Yang had never heard that name before.

That made sense, though. Aside from the Ancient One and Doctor Strange, the only sorcerer he knew from Marvel was Wong.

Still, magic had always been a powerful force in Marvel.

So Wang Yang felt that Kamar-Taj surely had more than just one or two formidable sorcerers.

And Regan Theodore did indeed look like a serious, unsmiling man.

He certainly had the air of a reclusive master.

After all, he was a master of magic. His bearing alone set him apart.

Besides, even Belar had become so cautious around him. He was clearly no ordinary man.

Wang Yang had only just arrived and didn't know much about Kamar-Taj. Still, he believed that after absorbing those magical talent fragments, learning magic should come more easily to him than to most people.
