With that, Karn carried Aoda toward the kitchen. He remembered there was quite a lot of meat in the refrigerator.
Aoda from Ryūchi Cave hung on Karn, writhing with lingering fear. He had felt as if he had nearly died just now. Snakes were extremely afraid of low temperatures; if Karn hadn't been a contractor of Ryūchi Cave, Aoda would never have agreed to this.
Aoda understood people, too, and would be able to speak human language before much longer. However, the snakes of Ryūchi Cave grew very quickly. Within ten years, his body would probably grow several meters thick.
By then, Karn would do his best to build up his strength. Protecting a snake shouldn't be much of a problem.
After Karn fed Aoda all the meat in the refrigerator, he stopped sulking and lazily fell asleep in the living room. Karn's villa offered a much better environment than Ryūchi Cave. All Aoda had to do was open his mouth to get meat, and after a full meal, he no longer blamed Karn for freezing him to bring him over.
"Why do you go straight to sleep after eating...?"
Karn gave Aoda two disdainful kicks, but Aoda merely shook his tail like a rattlesnake and kept sleeping without even opening his eyes. Karn had wanted to take him to the Biological Research Center for an examination. Now, even asleep, he would have to come along.
However, Karn still had to handle the pharmaceutical wholesale company's affairs and the emails that had piled up recently. The Military Security Company under Laura's management had also been established.
