Background / History

Kunlun upbringing

Wu Fengji lived in Kunlun from birth and never knew her biological parents. The Jade Emperor adopted her, and he and Kunlun’s Iron Fist guided her training. She regarded both as family. A golden-dragon totem had existed in her mind since childhood, though she did not recognize it as the Divine Dragon Force until Lu Chen awakened it 38.

The Jade Emperor had created the Divine Dragon Force to oppose the approaching Phoenix Force and selected Wu Fengji as his successor. Under his and Iron Fist’s guidance, she obtained its essence and became one of the three strongest Iron Fists in Kunlun’s history 38.

Joining Lu Chen

Lu Chen intervened when Phoenix fired a golden-red beam at Wu Fengji. He shattered the attack and infused her with Heavenly Dao Power, allowing her Divine Dragon Force to subdue Phoenix and absorb its essence. The resulting fusion raised her directly to Single-Universe-level 38.

Eager to see the universe beyond Kunlun, Wu Fengji accepted Lu Chen’s invitation to travel and fight beside him. She first returned to say goodbye to her family, then departed with him. During their travels, she declined to covet the Soul Stone, considering it external power rather than strength of her own 38 39.

She subsequently chose the Flame Dragon Armor from five fire-type armors offered by Lu Chen. He brought her into the Ming Realm Dimension, introduced her to his companions, and began an intimate relationship with her 40.

Campaigns across the universes

Over thousands of years, Wu Fengji and the Ancient One became notorious for seeking battles throughout the Hyper-Multiverse. Wu Fengji even fought Arishem the Judge; their clash destroyed countless Multi-Universes, but Arishem ultimately shattered her Flame Dragon Armor and narrowly defeated her 43.

Her repeated challenges to Mephisto concealed a greater danger. The One-Below-All secretly marked her during her visits to Hell, intending to possess her and enter the physical world through her body. Lu Chen discovered the black doorway forming inside her and destroyed it, severing the connection before the possession could occur 48.

During the Ming Realm’s invasion of the Dark Dimension, Wu Fengji fought Dormammu while Lu Chen advanced into its depths. She wounded Dormammu but struggled once he fought at full strength and his allies arrived. After the Five Shadow Guardians killed Dormammu and shadow power destroyed the dimension, she returned to the Ming Realm with its forces 50 51.

Phoenix Armor and the dimensional war

After more than a thousand years of gathering Phoenix Force fragments, Wu Fengji returned with greatly increased but unstable power. Lu Chen suppressed the surging force and agreed to forge her an exclusive armor despite its incomplete source 64.

The Phoenix Armor was born at the Ming Realm’s armor-origin altar. Unlike the Flame Dragon Armor, Wu Fengji considered it genuinely her own because it had been created from her powers and blood essence. Its manifestation drew the attention of gods across the universe 65.

When the Shadow Dimension and Hell invaded Earth, Wu Fengji supplied its defenders with Armor Crystals, protected the planet, and created an isolated battlefield. She fought Lucifer while the Ming Realm’s plan to bring forth Thunder Yatales approached completion. Yatales ultimately destroyed the invading armies and dimensional gates 71 74 75.

Later missions and bottleneck

While pursuing the Shadow Great Emperors toward the awakened Wanda, Wu Fengji and the Ancient One were intercepted by the Five Shadow Guardians. Wu Fengji used the Phoenix Armor to annihilate Evil Fire and drive the survivors into retreat. She later challenged Mephisto again, but lost despite the new armor; Lu Chen healed her injuries 111 113 115 116.

Her Phoenix Armor eventually stalled at Hyper-Multiverse-level Peak. With Phoenix Force fragments increasingly scarce and contested by the Shadow Dimension, Lu Chen left her to guard the Ming Realm while he investigated the Sacred Timeline 126 127.

On a later assignment, Wu Fengji captured Earth-616’s Wanda at Mount Wundagore and subdued her in the Ming Realm, enabling Lu Chen to strip away her chaos force. She was subsequently present when Lu Chen discussed the Shadow Great Emperors’ ascent to Early Omniverse-level 175 184.

Personality

Wu Fengji’s strongest motivation is the pursuit of challenging battles. The prospect of fighting stronger beings helped persuade her to leave Kunlun, and she repeatedly challenged opponents who outmatched her, including Arishem and Mephisto. Watching Lu Chen fight the Shadow Great Emperors only intensified her desire to join the action 38 43 53.

Initially shy and unfamiliar with Lu Chen’s romantic arrangements, she became openly affectionate and uninhibited over their long relationship. She also developed a teasing rapport with the Ancient One, proposing a wager over time with Lu Chen and joking about the Ancient One’s future Azure Dragon Armor 40 43 85 113.

Her manner changes sharply between private life and military duty. She is gentle toward Lu Chen but intimidating toward enemies, threatening Wanda when the captive challenged her. Her preference for personal strength is evident both in her disinterest in possessing the Soul Stone and her delight at receiving armor forged from her own power 39 65 175.
