Night had fallen over Gotham. Inside a brightly lit bar, a few burly men held mugs of draft beer and talked out of their asses.
"You have no idea. Wonder Woman's gorgeous legs-over in Boston, they call her feet works of art..."
"I heard a Bat Gang popped up in the East End lately. They've got a lunatic called Dinosaur War God..."
"Don't interrupt, buddy. We're talking about women. Take your Dinosaur War God and go eat shit... Personally, I think Supergirl Kara is prettier. That figure is unbeatable. Her tits are bigger than her head..."
Tits bigger than her head...
Lynn filed away that vital piece of information and nodded inwardly.
Metropolis was another important map. Once he'd cleared Gotham, he absolutely had to visit Metropolis and see what tits bigger than her head looked like...
No, wait. He meant to admire Supergirl Kara's heroic bearing.
Still, gorgeous as Supergirl and Wonder Woman were, Gotham had plenty of female characters too.
When Harley Quinn wasn't going crazy, she was pretty normal, and pretty good-looking.
Sitting at a table, Lynn grabbed a passing waitress and stopped her in her tracks.
Harley Quinn, who had only just started working as a waitress, stiffened.
Huh?
In broad daylight, someone actually dared to grope her in a bar?
Almost instantly, Harley raised her tray and swung it hard at the man's head.
"Wait, I'll pay."
"Fuck! I don't care if you pay!"
"Ten thousand dollars."
"Sir, you've come to exactly the right person. I love handsome, wealthy men like you."
Harley immediately lowered the tray, a smile spreading across her face.
The man before her was pretty handsome, and generous with his money.
She might have left the Joker, but there was no way Harley Quinn would pass up a sucker ripe for fleecing.
"My name is Harley Quinn. May I ask your name, sir?"
"Just call me Tony Stark." Lynn raised an eyebrow.
"...To... Tony Stark?" Harley was a little stunned.
Wasn't he a comic book character? Someone actually had that name?
She took a closer look at the man. He had handsome features, but his outfit was a little bizarre.
He wore a wool coat on top and a pair of floral shorts below.
Could this guy have escaped from Arkham Asylum?
She cleared her throat twice and whispered, "Ahem... I'm a waitress here. If you're looking for that kind of transaction, you'll have to wait until my shift ends."
After work, she'd lure him into an alley, beat the crap out of him, and take all his money.
Harley Quinn savored the thought.
"A waitress is exactly what I need," Lynn said earnestly.
Harley's face flushed slightly, her voice barely louder than a mosquito's buzz. "But we can't do it here... You might be that adventurous, but I'm not."
"I need service from a waitress. Where did your mind go?"
Harley: "..."
Wasn't that the same fucking thing?
"...Then what can I help you with?" she asked helplessly.
"Pay my bill."
Harley took a deep breath. So he wanted her to help him pay the bill. He should have said so sooner. She'd thought he wanted help with, well...
Wait.
Realization struck. Her expression froze, and her beautiful eyes widened as she stared at the man before her.
Didn't he have any fucking shame?
She was just a lowly waitress! He'd groped her, and now he wanted her to pay his bill? What the hell?
"Have you forgotten that I'm just a lowly waitress?" Harley asked through gritted teeth.
Lynn nodded. "Exactly. A waitress is what I wanted. You can get back to work now, though."
Harley glared at him, then stormed away with her tray.
Just you fucking wait!
After she left, a dark-haired beauty approached Lynn with a glass of wine.
Her black hair hung loose, and she wore a tight, deep-red dress. With fiery red lips, she radiated untamed allure.
"Sir, I saw everything just now. Stealing someone's wallet isn't a good habit."
The beauty leaned close to Lynn, wafting a faint, delicate perfume toward him.
"She said she'd pay my bill, so I took her wallet," Lynn replied.
"I don't think I've seen you before?" Selina Kyle asked, taking a sip of wine.
"It's normal that you haven't seen me," Lynn explained. "Just like I haven't seen you."
"Listening to you talk is just like listening to you talk," Selene said with a smile.
"But you don't look like a Gotham local. What brought you to a place like the East End?"
Gotham's East End was known as Little Mihua.
It was a place on par with Hell's Kitchen in the neighboring Marvel universe.
Gangs of every size filled the area. People were either committing crimes or on their way to committing crimes. Even the police had to say a prayer to Batman before coming here.
Apart from people with nothing to lose and outstanding graduates of Arkham Asylum, no ordinary person dared set foot here.
That was why Selene was curious about what had brought this man here.
Lynn lifted his eyes and glanced at the blue panel before him.
[Side quest: Debt collection] [Quest description: Your debtor, Willis Todd, was killed by Two-Face. Please collect the $100,000 debt from Two-Face.] [Rewards: Random character card ×1, random item ×1, dollars +100000, Gotham reputation +20, experience +20] [Note: It's time to get your money back.]
That hundred thousand dollars probably wasn't his own money, was it?
Lynn wondered inwardly, then said bluntly, "I'm here to find someone."
"Who?" Selene asked in surprise.
She had carefully studied the man before her, but hadn't noticed anything unusual about him.
He didn't even have a gun or a wallet on him. He looked like an ordinary person.
Lynn folded his hands on the table, his expression calm.
"Two-Face. He killed a friend of mine, so I'd like a word with him... Stop feeling around down there. You won't find anything."
Selene gave an awkward
smile. "Occupational habit. Sorry, sorry."
Good. The man in front of her probably wasn't an ordinary person.
An ordinary person might notice her movements, but anyone who noticed her movements couldn't be ordinary.
"Are you having a hard time too?" Lynn raised an eyebrow at the beauty before him.
"Who goes through life without hardships?" Selene swirled her wineglass, her gaze languid.
"Don't tell me you've also got a gambling father, a seriously ill mother, and a younger brother in school."
At that, Selene fell silent for a moment, then forced a smile and nodded.
Lynn took a deep breath, patted Selene on the shoulder, and comforted her:
"I understand. But when you're out, don't say you're in a hard spot-say you're a virgin in distress."
Selene: ???
Was this guy... messed up in the head?
Had he just come back from advanced studies at Arkham Asylum?
Selene sipped her wine and changed the subject.
"Weren't you looking for Two-Face? I know him."
"Yes, that's him." Lynn nodded.
"He's the boss of the Two-Face Gang, and a lunatic with a split personality. He often plots things at the Iceberg Lounge," Selene said slowly.
Once Lynn had committed all the information to memory, he stood.
"Thanks, but I've got something to take care of now, so I'll excuse myself."
"What a strange man."
Selene watched Lynn walk out of the bar and muttered under her breath.
"Holy shit!"
Harley Quinn hurried over to the table, her face full of anger.
"Where's the man who was sitting here?"
"He already left." Selene lifted her wineglass. "What's wrong?"
"That bastard stole my wallet! And he groped me! He promised me ten thousand dollars, but he didn't give me a single cent!"
Harley's ample chest heaved with anger. This was the first time anyone in Gotham had played her like this.
Fuck, if word got out, how was Harley Quinn supposed to show her face in the underworld?
Plop!
A woman's wallet fell from Selene's person.
"Isn't that my wallet? Why do you have it?"
Harley picked up her wallet and stared suspiciously at the woman before her.
"Are you two working together?"
Selene: "..."
If she'd known, she wouldn't have stolen that man's wallet.
