Shinji and the others immediately climbed onto the rooftops of the Uchiha Compound and looked toward the Konoha Gate.
Though they were far away, with many buildings blocking their view,
thanks to his Heavenly Blue Eyes, Shinji still saw exactly what was happening at the Konoha Gate, along with the spectacular arrival of the Six Paths of Pain.
Before he could even gather any intelligence, the scene he least wanted to see had unfolded.
The whole thing was just fucking ridiculous!
Was this really a case of whatever you feared most coming true?
Shinji clicked his tongue twice and glanced at Tobi out of the corner of his eye, wondering whether the guy had known about this.
He felt that Tobi probably hadn't known this time.
Otherwise, he would certainly have stopped Shinji from coming to Konoha. After all, if Shinji confronted the Six Paths of Pain again, the two sides would inevitably fight to the death.
Tobi would never want to see that happen.
In other words, this was very likely the result of Nagato acting on his own without informing Tobi.
Shinji suddenly grew very curious about what expression lay beneath Tobi's mask right now.
Shinji's guess was more or less correct. Tobi really hadn't known that Nagato would come to make trouble for Konoha at this particular time.
Had he known beforehand, he would never have come.
For one thing, his presence would introduce uncertainty into Nagato's operation. For another, he might even get dragged into it himself.
He would have to be insane to want everyone gathering in the same place.
What made his gaze turn even colder was that Zetsu hadn't shown his face once throughout this entire affair.
That was something he absolutely could not tolerate!
