Ch. 205He was the [ballast] × A solitary little boat

Mizaistom prepared for an extreme incident and urged Dio to protect Cheadle as the group investigated the Shizai Hotel and the possible secret realm at Rusty Lake. Dio found Pariston’s empty boat circling on the water, but Pariston was nowhere to be seen.

  • Mizaistom resolved to minimize casualties and saw Kanzai as the person who might restrain everyone if an extreme incident occurred.
  • Mizaistom reminded Dio to protect Cheadle, while Biscuit arrived and Cheadle examined the fallen hotel and discussed her secret-realm theory.
  • Mizaistom and Kanzai rowed into the mist, and Biscuit took Cheadle toward the hotel to investigate.
  • Dio secretly placed a Child Seed in Cheadle’s pocket, then rode his Nen Beast across the lake with Silva.
  • Dio spotted Pariston’s empty boat drifting in circles and wondered where Pariston had gone.

Ch. 206[Four Calamities Hotel] × Missing memories! × Skipped time

Dio reached the Hotel, found its sign read “Four Calamities Hotel,” and was suddenly transported into a dark corridor with no memory of the intervening time. He entered the moonlit reception hall, where old bloodstains hinted at a past incident, and continued searching for clues about what had happened.

  • Dio arrived at the Hotel and saw the rusted gate sign bearing the name “Four Calamities Hotel.”
  • A woman’s laughter rang out, and Dio abruptly found himself in a dark red corridor, separated from Silva and the others.
  • Dio used Ripple Radar to map the corridor, found no living beings, and headed toward a door leading to the reception hall.
  • Dio saw moonlight through the door and realized an unknown amount of time might have passed since he landed on the island, though he had no memory of it.
  • Dio found his phone broken and the Mother Seed unchanged, then entered the reception hall and discovered toppled chairs and old, scattered bloodstains.

Ch. 207Green-skinned Little Men × Big Teapot

Dio discovered that two Green-skinned Little Men had hidden in his ears and were attacking him with a voice that sounded like a plea for help. After the Mumuzawa Doll ate one of them, the survivor revealed that a Big Teapot had made Dio forget things, then died when a fine rope tightened around his neck.

  • Dio spotted a bloodstained rope and wooden chair, sensed a trap with [Ripple Sensing] and [Gyo], and shot the chair with his Beretta.
  • The voice continued attacking Dio, so he pulled two Green-skinned Little Men from his ears and restrained them.
  • Dio's Mumuzawa Doll ate one little man, and the survivor named Han revealed that he and Hou had been in the hotel for ten years.
  • Han said Big Teapot had hidden the little men in Dio's ears and that her memory-altering trick lasted three hours.
  • Han told Dio to look for more than one shadow, then a fine rope looped around his neck and cut him off.

Ch. 208[Punjabi Lasso] × [Ready to Go], Part One

Dio escaped a hall where supernatural lassos multiplied and encountered Uluru Ubantu, an enemy who increased his speed by winding a key against his chest. As Uluru circled and kept winding himself, Dio summoned Misty to counter him.

  • A lasso decapitated [Shout], and Dio shot another lasso before fleeing the hall as more appeared.
  • Dio emerged into an indoor track-and-field facility and met Uluru Ubantu, who said he and Linnix had been ordered to kill Dio four hours earlier.
  • Uluru wound a golden key against his chest, but Dio attacked before he could finish explaining himself.
  • Uluru dodged Dio's punches and circled him at increasing speed while repeatedly winding the key.
  • Dio judged that Uluru's ability carried a severe cost and summoned Misty to use a newly practiced ability.

Ch. 209Dio's [Armament] × [Ready to Go], Part Two

Dio unleashed a downpour and used it to prepare a new attack while Uluru tried to identify his ability and wind his spring for a decisive strike. Seeing Dio appear in a diving suit, Uluru realized a trump card was coming, and Dio brought down a barrage of green Thunderbolts as the fight escalated.

  • Uluru interpreted Dio's spreading mist and sudden rain as a weather ability and held his breath against the downpour.
  • Uluru dodged a green Thunderbolt and concluded that its special effect had made it too slow to hit him.
  • Dio appeared in a heavy diving suit with oxygen tanks, while Uluru continued winding his spring and prepared to take Dio down with him.
  • Dio tapped his diving suit, activated his Hamon at full power, and sent countless green Thunderbolts crashing toward Uluru.

Ch. 210Adapting to extreme weather × Routing the enemy with ease

Dio used the rainwater carrying his Green Ripple Nen to steadily slow Uluru, whose spring-powered speed was beginning to threaten his life. When Uluru charged in a final attempt to attack, Dio stopped time, struck him with a Ripple spear, and smashed his head with a powerful punch.

  • Uluru wound his key to its thirteenth turn but realized his speed was dropping despite avoiding Dio’s thunderbolts.
  • Dio explained that Green Ripple Nen had spread through the standing rainwater and was gradually paralyzing Uluru.
  • Uluru recognized that his stored energy could become dangerous if his speed continued to fall, so he charged at Dio.
  • Dio used Bullet Time and The World to stop time, then struck Uluru with a blue-green Ripple spear.
  • Dio punched Uluru’s head apart as Uluru’s momentum carried him forward.

Ch. 211Intruder × Winner takes all

Dio killed Uluru and followed the post-mortem Nen Aura, while Ziwu and Linnix learned of Uluru’s death. A newcomer searching for his companions met Ziwu, who challenged him to a game and revealed that Dio had lost his soul.

  • Dio punched Uluru’s head apart, then watched the black post-mortem Nen Aura rise from the corpse and drift out of the stadium.
  • Dio followed the Nen Aura, while two bloodstained nooses floated out of the stadium after him.
  • Ziwu told Linnix that Uluru was dead and insisted Druha was still alive, then sent Linnix to welcome another guest.
  • A newcomer entered Ziwu’s study and asked whether he had seen a blond man, a young black-haired man, and a woman in a red dress.
  • Ziwu summoned a Nen Beast and challenged the newcomer to a game, saying the loser would forfeit his soul and revealing that Dio had been the last person to lose.

Ch. 212Cheadle began the game × Timekeeper

Ziwu persuaded Cheadle to play a life-point game called Night Watch, where the players tested their ability to measure elapsed time. Their first turn ended with both losing one second, while Cheadle identified the chip’s supposed owner as a tiger-headed figure rather than Dio.

  • Cheadle threatened to kill Ziwu, but he claimed that doing so would destroy the soul inside the chip, and she agreed to play if his soul and Big Teapot Linnix were also stakes.
  • Cheadle and Ziwu began Night Watch, a timing game in which incorrect estimates cost life points and Baku measured the actual time.
  • Ziwu revealed that he was a wanted criminal once known as one of the Fuji Four Thieves, and Cheadle used the name Xiya during the game.
  • Ziwu counted while Cheadle called the stop, and both clocks lost one second after his estimate matched the elapsed time.
  • As Cheadle took her turn, Ziwu asked about Dio, and Cheadle said the figure in the chip was a short, tiger-headed fellow instead.

Ch. 213Ziwu's Surefire Method × Dio Enters

Cheadle challenged Ziwu to a timed gambling game, but discovered that his ability let him cheat while making the result binding. Dio followed Uluru’s Nen Aura to Ziwu’s study and confronted him as he arrived.

  • Cheadle suspected Ziwu had already beaten Kanzai and agreed to play because she needed to learn whether the chip held Dio’s soul.
  • Ziwu’s Nen Beast, Baku, ruled Cheadle’s time estimate incorrect, but Cheadle demanded a clock and reminded Ziwu that she could leave a game of chance.
  • Ziwu offered Cheadle another chance if she agreed not to withdraw, and she chose to continue.
  • Dio followed Uluru’s fading Nen Aura to the study and stopped outside when he heard Cheadle’s voice.
  • Linnix warned Ziwu that Dio had arrived, and Dio entered the study and told Ziwu to choose how he would die.

Ch. 214Whispers in Her Ear × 1245 Seconds!

Dio agreed to Ziwu’s wager after Cheadle explained the time discrepancy, then relied on her to count the elapsed seconds. When Dio whispered the correct answer, Cheadle called 1,245 seconds and won the round.

  • Cheadle warned Dio that time in the Hotel flowed at a different rate and that Ziwu was exploiting the discrepancy.
  • Dio heard Ziwu explain the wager and realized the strange passage of time was meant to hide its secret.
  • Dio proposed a one-round wager with Cheadle counting for him, and Ziwu accepted after staking everything.
  • Cheadle tracked the elapsed time as Ziwu kept the Quartz Clock running past 1,200 seconds.
  • Dio whispered “1,245” to Cheadle, who announced the number and saw it confirmed on the Quartz Clock.

Ch. 215A puppy nuzzling his chest × stark white, man-eating bones

After twenty-five years of counting time in the hotel, Ziwu tried to avoid losing a soul-wager against Dio and Cheadle. Dio ended the timing round before a minute had passed, leaving Ziwu stunned as he prepared to answer.

  • Ziwu remembered his decades in the hotel, where he had counted the irregular seconds while waiting for Druha to find a way back.
  • Ziwu signaled that he wanted to turn the wager into a draw, but Dio rejected reconciliation and took the quartz clock.
  • Cheadle leaned against Dio and explained how the clock worked, while Dio examined it without understanding her technical explanation.
  • Ziwu resolved to rely on his years of memorizing time deviations and expected Mori to return with a stone that could help him endure a long game.
  • Dio ended the timing round after less than a minute, and Ziwu was shocked when he realized that only forty-five seconds had passed.

Ch. 216An easy victory × An angry Cheadle

Dio defeated Ziwu in a wager by manipulating the Quartz Clock’s reading, then killed Linnix after learning that the teapot had caused his memory loss. He recalled how he had pursued the thieves into the hotel’s collapsed Secret Realm, but the reason he had been transported outside remained unclear.

  • Ziwu answered that forty-five seconds had passed, but Dio showed him a reading of forty-six, and [Baku] killed Ziwu and produced a chip from his head.
  • Dio revealed that he had stopped time to alter the Quartz Clock’s reading, causing Ziwu to believe he had lost.
  • Dio asked Linnix whether he had caused Dio’s memory loss, and Linnix admitted that his ability could make people refuse to think about certain things.
  • Linnix insulted Cheadle, so Cheadle threw a Nen-powered scalpel that shattered the teapot.
  • Dio remembered defeating Uluru and Ziwu, pursuing them into a strange building connected to the hotel, and entering the Secret Realm before losing his memory.

Ch. 217The ruined city's past × On we go!

Druha and Lu Yan continued their decades-long attempt to break through the black rock wall enclosing the ruined city, despite learning that their allies had been killed and pursuers were closing in. Druha rallied the hanged citizens to keep digging, leaving the escape effort underway.

  • Druha directed the hanged citizens as they ground their own bones into picks and chipped at the black rock wall.
  • Lu Yan warned Druha that the Hunter Association had tracked them and that three companions at the Hotel and some of Lu Yan’s subordinates had been killed.
  • Druha agreed to make one last attempt to escape, and Lu Yan left the worksite.
  • Lu Yan recalled how he and Druha had joined forces, hanged the citizens attacking the Hotel, and started the Slaughter Festival, which helped turn the city into a Lost City.
  • Druha urged the hanged citizens to keep digging, and they quickened their work as his chant echoed across the fields.

Ch. 218Biscuit vs. Silva × The invisible person

Silva and Biscuit searched the ruined city for the Hotel while an invisible enemy used a Nen ability to control Biscuit. The chapter ended with Silva realizing that the Biscuit beside him was an impostor and attacking her after questioning her about Dio and Cheadle.

  • Silva explored the ruined city and suspected that the Secret Realm’s collapse had an unknown cause.
  • Silva met Biscuit, and the two teamed up to search for the Hotel.
  • Near a police station, an invisible person controlled Biscuit and made her attack Silva.
  • Biscuit warned Silva that an invisible person had thrown something onto her hand, and Silva sharpened his senses to watch for the attacker.
  • Twenty minutes later, Silva fought a Biscuit who survived his Nen Bullets, then recognized her as an impostor and attacked after she said Dio and Cheadle were enemies.

Ch. 219Seizing the Moment × Throwing the Fight

Biscuit and Silva covertly coordinated their fight to destroy the white Nen Beast controlling Biscuit. Biscuit regained control at the cost of a badly broken arm, but she and Silva still could not locate the ability’s source.

  • Biscuit realized the white Nen Beast controlled her through her fighting instincts, while Silva kept his attacks restrained and maintained his distance.
  • Silva changed tactics and struck Biscuit’s right fist with a Nen Bullet, briefly weakening the ghost’s control.
  • Biscuit seized the opening to summon [Cookie-chan], which drew Nen Aura away from her right arm.
  • Biscuit called for Silva to attack her right side, and his full-power Nen Bullet destroyed the ghostly Nen Beast but left her arm twisted and broken.
  • Biscuit treated her injury and told Silva that she could not locate the enemy or find its traces with [En].

Ch. 220[Divine Artifact] × Dark Gold Skull

Mizaistom restrained Wendu Sterling and questioned her about her attack, prompting her to begin explaining events from twenty-five years earlier. At the Hotel, Mori confronted Pariston over the dark gold skull, then left to check on his companions while Pariston kept the artifact.

  • Mizaistom immobilized Wendu Sterling and questioned her, but her evasive answers revealed little.
  • Wendu panicked when Mizaistom continued toward Druha's construction site and agreed to tell him what she knew.
  • Pariston told Mori he was a Hunter who had come for him and showed him the damaged dark gold skull, which Mori recognized as a Divine Artifact.
  • Mori used the Stone in his pocket to strengthen his Nen Aura while Pariston calmly invited him to stay or leave.
  • Worried by the sounds of fighting overhead and the danger to Ziwu and the others, Mori left the chapel and told Pariston to keep the skull safe.

Ch. 221Kanzai didn't like reminiscing × The corpses on the ceiling

Dio and Cheadle investigated the hotel's second floor, where they found hundreds of hanging corpses, before a familiar roar led them to the revived Kanzai. Kanzai reunited with them but could not recall his past, leaving them to continue searching for their missing companions.

  • Dio and Cheadle discussed the teleportation and considered whether a divine artifact had caused it.
  • Dio and Cheadle explored the hotel's second floor and found hundreds of corpses hanging from ropes.
  • Cheadle examined the corpses and found signs that some had been cut for meat.
  • Kanzai woke up hanging by a rope, broke free, and smashed a crater into the floor.
  • Dio and Cheadle found Kanzai, who mistakenly thought they had died and then admitted he did not remember when he first met Cheadle.

Ch. 222Tiger! × Fighting death to a draw

The chapter recounts Kanzai’s tragic birth, unusual heart, and rise as a Hunter, ending with his recovery from heart failure and his appointment as the Zodiac Tiger. At thirty, Kanzai remained impulsive and simple-minded, but powerful and difficult to kill.

  • Kanzai was born during a typhoon in Innsmouth, and his mother died when a chandelier fell during the blackout; he survived after swallowing blood, rainwater, and milk.
  • Kanzai grew up with an oversized, unusually powerful heart that gave him great athletic ability but left him vulnerable to heart failure.
  • Kanzai struggled to find the Hunter Exam venue, followed a young Cheadle there, and passed as the only other successful candidate.
  • After a prolonged battle caused his heart to fail, Cheadle performed a heart transplant and told Kanzai he had fought Death to a draw.
  • Kanzai sought out Chairman Netero, trained after learning there were stronger people, and earned Netero’s recognition in a later match.
  • Netero made Kanzai the Zodiac Tiger, and Kanzai adopted a tiger-like appearance.

Ch. 223One master, three subordinates × Competition between master and disciple

Mori discovered that an unknown Nen user had killed Uluru, Ziwu, and Linnix, and searched Ziwu’s body for Druha’s lasso. Meanwhile, Dio learned that Mori had entered the hotel and wondered whether he and Cheadle were competing to kill him.

  • Mori found Uluru dead on the flooded track and buried him after deducing that a Nen user had likely slowed or immobilized him with conjured rainwater.
  • Mori discovered Ziwu’s corpse in the study and mourned him, then gathered Linnix’s ashes and remembered his unreturned feelings for Uluru.
  • Mori searched Ziwu’s clothes, found the miniature [Subordinate Lasso], and swallowed it to keep it from being destroyed in battle.
  • Kanzai’s appearance confirmed to Dio that he had been lured into a trap by enemies disguised as Cheadle and Mizaistom.
  • Dio connected the disguise ability to Mori and wondered whether he and Cheadle were competing to kill him.

Ch. 224Corpse uprising × Promise

Kanzai left to find Mizaistom, while Dio and Cheadle stayed behind and discussed Pariston’s plans. The corpses on the second floor suddenly awakened and attacked them, leaving Dio fighting back with his Nen Beast and [Armament].

  • Kanzai read Mizaistom’s urgent messages and sprinted southwest to find him.
  • Cheadle told Dio she would prioritize completing her commission and saving lives, and asked him to stop Pariston if necessary.
  • Dio and Cheadle noticed that the corpses cast no shadows, then saw one corpse move and sensed Nen flowing from it.
  • The corpses turned toward Dio and Cheadle, dropped to the floor, and charged them together.
  • Dio summoned [Atmosphere Creator] to fill the second floor with rain, smashed the approaching corpses, and gathered raindrops around himself before activating [Armament].
