Without Fugetsu's ability to help him, Joey now found it difficult even to find a base on the upper floors.
Staying in Room 12 indefinitely was no solution either. After all, Room 12 was already under close scrutiny. A brief, careful stay might be fine, but if he lingered and an ability user investigated with En, he would be exposed instantly.
Where else on the upper floors could he stay temporarily, or even open a passage to the lower floors?
What immediately flashed through Joey's mind were the areas on the First Tier left behind by the dead and missing Princes.
But there were few options. The disappearance incident in the Thirteenth Prince's room still hadn't been resolved.
The Eighth Prince's and Tenth Prince's rooms were guarded day and night by King's Army soldiers because bodies had suddenly been discovered there earlier.
The Fourth Prince's room went without saying. Repairs still weren't complete after the last battle, and workers and soldiers were there at all times.
He couldn't go to the remaining room, the Eleventh Prince's, either, because the Sixth Queen lived there.
And since incidents kept occurring in the dead Princes' areas, even if another Prince suddenly died now, the King's Army presumably wouldn't let down its guard over that area.
After considering it all, Joey suddenly realized there really wasn't a suitable spot in this floor's Princes' quarters.
With that being the case, he turned his attention to the rooms in the VVIP Area.
There were quite a few vacant rooms here. Even if he was discovered on this floor, his abilities would make escaping easier, and he wouldn't implicate anyone else.
Near the First Prince's residence were some rooms specifically reserved by the royal family.
