Chapter 251: Destruction × resentment × time?
The Nen Beasts appeared in somewhat different ways, but overall, it was not much different from the illusion. In both cases, the Nen Beasts of the princes who were about to die had to be materialized in the Coffin Area.
Joey had no intention of giving his opponent the chance to attack him with an ability first.
After all, striking first often offered an enormous advantage in battles between Nen Abilities!
The Heartbreaker Attack Chariot exploded with a roar in the Coffin Area, but the Fourth Prince's Guardian Nen Beast was not immediately destroyed after the blast.
Still, Joey had predicted that.
Joey did not know whether the Guardian Nen Beast gave off heat, but he used the same method he had used when having the chariot attack the King's Army Soldiers: guiding it with heat generated by friction in the atmosphere.
An explosion guided this way could only detonate normally, rather than produce the erasure effect of the First Bomb.
And trying to destroy a monster made of Nen outright with an explosion like that was clearly impossible.
Joey's real purpose in using the chariot was to test whether Killer Queen's ability could affect Guardian Nen Beasts, and thereby delay the beast's formation.
Seeing the chariot's explosion scatter the black resentment surrounding the Nen Beast, Joey's eyes lit up. The hummingbird that had flown toward the beast alongside the chariot had already reached its vicinity.
After exploding once, the chariot neither retreated nor changed direction. Instead, it exploded again just as the hummingbird was about to approach.
The hummingbird plunged headfirst into the explosion.
But the expected erasure effect did not appear. Instead, a coin passed through the resentment and the Nen Beast within it, flying into the distance.
