Chapter 296: Skin elasticity × break through × the brain?
Joey sank into thought as he watched the Chariot land.
Had the Chariot been teleported upward?
Joey was puzzled, because in his perception, the Chariot had never actually disappeared. It had been there all along, only to suddenly appear in midair above the deck.
Its failure to go beyond the now-sealed roof was probably a restriction of the opponent's ability: it could only move things within a fixed area.
But...
Joey looked up at the roof overhead. He carefully scanned the nearby sections, especially calculating the trajectory the Chariot would have taken if it had been bounced away rather than teleported.
Searching that way, Joey really did find a hole punched through the roof.
At that instant, Joey understood everything. Skin's ability had never been teleportation in the first place.
Teleportation had merely been Morel and the others' subjective guess. No one had even actually seen Skin use its ability to send anyone away. They had only made a rough judgment based on what they saw.
But they could hardly be blamed for being careless, because Skin's rebound was simply too fast.
Even though Joey had been so close and had kept watching Skin's every move, he had failed to catch the slightest clue when Heartbreaker Attack was bounced away. Everything really had looked like teleportation: in the blink of an eye, Heartbreaker Attack and Skin had vanished together.
But that was not what had actually happened. In particular, no matter how he thought about it, the properties of skin had no connection to teleportation, whereas they were closely tied to elasticity. That further supported Joey's judgment.
Skin's ability was to bounce away anything it wanted to bounce away.
As for whether that rebound could cause damage, that was hard
