Chapter 353: Trial × Arson × Fog Beasts
Joey heard Beyond's words, but he did not understand what Beyond had actually said.
But that no longer mattered, because the instant Beyond spoke that name, the fog in the Forest Sea surged and swept over the entire team.
For an instant, Joey's En was even forced back into his body.
He had never experienced anything like it, and what followed was even more outrageous. The fog appeared for only an instant, and when it dispersed, his companions were gone, along with the towering trees and dim surroundings. Only an expanse of white remained.
There was still ground beneath his feet, but wherever he looked, all he could see was white.
It was as though he had been thrown into an alternate space the instant Beyond spoke.
This situation did not last long. Just as Joey took in his surroundings, a figure slowly approached him from the whiteness directly ahead.
It was a towering tree.
Now, like a person, it strode steadily toward Joey on two legs formed entirely of roots.
It also radiated an extremely powerful vitality. Its trunk bore a shape resembling a human face, and as the mouth on that face moved slightly, a voice rang throughout the space.
But just like the sounds Beyond had made, it spoke a language Joey could not understand at all.
For some reason, though, the language sounded familiar to him. As he listened closely, he finally gained a sense of it. These seemed to be the spoken sounds corresponding to God Script.
Unfortunately, God Script had disappeared from Lake Mobius long ago. Even though Joey knew the meanings of most of its characters, he could not pronounce them correctly.
