Chapter 369: Rainy night × attack × unease
The forest at night was just as quiet as it had been during the day. It could even be called deathly silent.
It was as though every living thing in this forest had already been dealt with by Brion.
Yet even if they had been dealt with, the Brion that should have been there had disappeared too, which felt very strange.
Ging also entered the tent, but rather than resting right away, they analyzed and speculated about the situation in the forest and the information they had on Brion.
One of Ging's theories was that Brion was a plant with a brief growth cycle. In other words, devouring other life, growing into Brion, taking action, and then dying all happened over an extremely short period.
Just like the speed at which Brion reproduced, it grew rapidly and existed only briefly.
"That certainly is possible. After all, the current situation is quite different from what we saw before." Joey agreed with Ging.
According to their deductions, Brion should have come from the Labyrinth City hundreds of miles away.
Yet aside from the large numbers of Brion where they had entered the forest, they had encountered fewer and fewer as they advanced. By now, it was difficult to see even one.
They did, however, see quite a few of the Brion corpses they had encountered before as they continued onward.
But wherever there were Brion corpses, there were always claw marks too.
They had seen plenty of claw marks, but the creatures that had made them had never appeared in their sight, almost as though they were deliberately avoiding them.
Joey did not think they would deliberately avoid them. Their disappearance meant either that they had no interest in the group and did not
