Chapter 384: Area × Ambush × Security booth
By the evening of their second day in the Ancient City, Joey gradually realized something: they seemed to have been going in circles through the city all along.
The labyrinth's nature began to reveal itself.
"This should be our fourth time passing this station, right?" Joey looked down at the Underground Entrance, his expression grim.
He also held a map marked with three underground entrances. They formed a triangle, with red lines connecting the three points.
Those red lines represented the routes Joey and the others had taken.
There were also special markings near the triangle: monsters, tall buildings, and even some tall trees they had marked.
After their repeated trips through the area, there was no longer any danger here.
Although Brion would gradually replenish their numbers in this area, that was not something that could happen quickly.
"No matter which way we go, we end up back in this area. It's very strange." Clear curiosity and interest showed in List's eyes.
"The Zoldyck Family members have gone to investigate. I wonder if they'll find anything." There was some anticipation in Ging's voice.
After discovering that everyone had become trapped in something like an endless loop, the Zoldyck Family members had chosen to split off.
Joey did not think they would find anything, though, because the two groups had already made contact again not long ago.
In their current situation, both Joey and Ging understood that the key to breaking out lay underground.
As for their previous plan, it had become meaningless once they were caught in the loop. If they could not break out of their current predicament, exploring the entire city was out of the question; even leaving this place alive was uncertain.
The sky had begun to darken.
