Ging had already dug out the area around the eye, revealing that what connected to it was a long, slender strip of flesh extending underground.
Hairless, somewhat rough flesh!
The eye still turned nimbly, and from time to time, that petrification-like attack would shoot out of it.
The attacks were extremely fast. Without watching closely, even Joey had difficulty noticing that fleeting flash of Nen.
Ging called Razor's Nen Beast over.
The Nen Beast reached for the flesh beneath the eye. Although the eye tried to dodge, its range of movement was extremely limited, and it was not particularly fast, so the Nen Beast naturally caught it in one hand.
Then the Nen Beast unleashed its strength, trying to pull the eye straight out of the ground.
But no matter how much strength it exerted, the eye remained connected to whatever lay underground, showing no sign of coming loose.
There seemed to be something enormous underground, and the eye was merely a small part of its body.
Ging's shovel fell on the soil around the eye again, but before he had dug another five meters down, he could dig no farther.
The shovel struck as though it had hit diamond, and even its Nen-coated blade was chipped.
Joey, however, noticed a flesh-colored patch in the wall of the shaft Ging had dug.
Following that spot, he conjured an ice blade with Weather Report and plunged it straight in. Turning over the soil, he discovered another eye stalk!
As this eye stalk appeared, a chilling possibility silently surfaced in Joey's mind.
"Could there be something enormous underground, with these eyes growing on its body like hair?"
Joey quickly voiced his thought while sweeping his ice blade across the surrounding area. Amid flying fragments of stone, more slender strips of flesh connected
