The pitch-black mass made it hard to tell what was going on, but somehow it felt as though it might have something to do with the World Tree.
After all, Joey and the others had been following the records in the Ancient City toward the World Tree all along.
Treading over countless insects, Joey and the others left the insect grounds and stepped back into a forest-like area. Unlike the previous forest, however, the trees here were taller and stood quite far apart.
Looking deeper into the woods, they could even see that the gaps between the trees grew wider still, and they could vaguely make out Fierce Beasts beneath the towering trees.
As Joey and the others continued onward, they gradually saw the animals that lived here.
They were no longer the ordinary small animals from before, but towering, dinosaur-like creatures.
From the Fierce Beasts just over two meters tall when they first entered the woods to those over ten meters tall several kilometers later, the transition gave Joey and the others a strong sense of gradually walking out of Lilliput and into the Giant Country.
The height of the Fierce Beasts seemed to have reached the norm here. Although larger creatures still existed, such as the Forest Monsters that had crossed the forest and insect grounds just as Joey and the others had, most were dinosaur-like Fierce Beasts ranging from over ten to several dozen meters tall.
The Forest Monsters and Cliff Face Monsters that had crossed the river, forest, and insect grounds, on the other hand, began to grow languid here, as though they had come home.
Bloody hunts never ceased, no matter the place, but Fierce Beasts that were merely enormous did not worry Joey and the others.
In fact, if possible, Joey and Ging could
