Joey and his companions uncover the Ancient City’s research and find the Herb and Longevity Rice, while Nurarihyon and the other factions pursue their own goals through the sealed spaces. The groups become scattered across dangerous regions, and the Town Chief reaches the place he sought without realizing he has been exposed.

• The old man opened the laboratory door, revealing Nurarihyon, and the factions fought their way inside as the Wood Wraith’s secrets came to light.
• Joey read the records explaining that Wood Wraith spawned Brion and monsters, then escaped the expanding tree with Ging and their companions through the Tank Storage Area and Gravity Staircase.
• Joey’s group crossed the Dragon Pond District, where the Wood Wraith broke free and the Willow Tree attacked the factions converging on the city center.
• Joey and Ging trapped the Deputy Director, learned of his immortality disease, and used his memories to find the Fields, where Ging unlocked a chamber containing the Herb and Longevity Rice.
• Joey ate the Herb, recovered control of his greatly increased aura, and led the group through the Fields and laboratory as Nurarihyon’s monsters pursued them.
• The Hunter Association found a town whose people had lived for generations, while the Phantom Troupe entered a golden space and Joey’s group discovered records about the Ancient City’s engineered monsters.
• Joey’s group entered a Sealed Gate that drained their life energy and disabled Nen, while Beyond’s Team escaped Nurarihyon through another gate and the Hunter Association began protecting Bartholomew and its rice.
• The Town Chief and Nurarihyon entered a Sealed Gate, but monsters dragged Nurarihyon and Beyond into Duel Space, and the Puppet Girl rescued Beyond, and the Town Chief reached his destination unaware he had been exposed.

Joey and his companions left the Ancient City, crossed the Dark Continent, and found a Tower filled with traps, living constructs, and God Script. After collecting its Small Cubes and opening its gate, they emerged above another dark Tower with a glowing cube that had swallowed attacking birds.

• Joey defeated Nurarihyon and escaped the collapsing Chaotic Space with Ging and the others, then chose to travel east toward the World Tree.
• Joey recognized that using Gold Experience drained his soul, put away the wallet, and led the group east with Weather Report carrying them.
• Joey and his companions discovered that the distant mountain was a vast frog-like beast whose blood and footprints produced rapidly growing forests, then crossed the boundary into a plain filled with enormous monsters.
• Joey and the others crossed a river and entered a Tower, where a horned giant and hidden attackers ambushed them, and Joey stopped the hydrogen-clone explosions and helped the group fight their way upward.
• Joey and Ging awakened the Tower’s statues with moonlight, and Dwun used a giant key to activate a God Script formation that transported the group inside the Tower.
• Joey captured the Deputy Director after he tried to enter a construct, then discovered that a blue ghost had been influencing his urge to destroy the Tower and trapped it with Killer Queen.
• Joey collected all five thousand Small Cubes, and the group learned that feeding Nen to the Tower’s door opened it.
• Razor opened the gate with a Nen Bullet, and Joey and the others emerged above another dark Tower, where Joey used a Small Cube to swallow diving birds and watched it glow with Life Energy.
