Arc 18The Tower Beyond the Plain

Joey and his companions left the Ancient City, crossed the Dark Continent, and found a Tower filled with traps, living constructs, and God Script. After collecting its Small Cubes and opening its gate, they emerged above another dark Tower with a glowing cube that had swallowed attacking birds.

  • Joey defeated Nurarihyon and escaped the collapsing Chaotic Space with Ging and the others, then chose to travel east toward the World Tree.
  • Joey recognized that using Gold Experience drained his soul, put away the wallet, and led the group east with Weather Report carrying them.
  • Joey and his companions discovered that the distant mountain was a vast frog-like beast whose blood and footprints produced rapidly growing forests, then crossed the boundary into a plain filled with enormous monsters.
  • Joey and the others crossed a river and entered a Tower, where a horned giant and hidden attackers ambushed them, and Joey stopped the hydrogen-clone explosions and helped the group fight their way upward.
  • Joey and Ging awakened the Tower’s statues with moonlight, and Dwun used a giant key to activate a God Script formation that transported the group inside the Tower.
  • Joey captured the Deputy Director after he tried to enter a construct, then discovered that a blue ghost had been influencing his urge to destroy the Tower and trapped it with Killer Queen.
  • Joey collected all five thousand Small Cubes, and the group learned that feeding Nen to the Tower’s door opened it.
  • Razor opened the gate with a Nen Bullet, and Joey and the others emerged above another dark Tower, where Joey used a Small Cube to swallow diving birds and watched it glow with Life Energy.
Chapters 431–455 Vol. 5 Read

Ch. 431Vigilance, amusement park, separation

Joey and his companions reached a wish-transformed amusement park in the Ruins Land, where its attractions compelled them to separate and play. Meanwhile, the Town Chief approached the park, Beyond's Team found a field of skeletons, and Nurarihyon turned back to attack the Sealed Gate.

  • Dwun detected a powerful intruder, and Ging led the group onward through sudden tornadoes that nearly cost Razor an arm.
  • The ruins transformed into an amusement park, and the Deputy Director warned that finding the wish-granting being could make death a luxury.
  • Joey and his companions entered the park, where strange performers and cheerful attractions drew them apart and overcame their preparations.
  • The Town Chief arrived in the tornado zone and continued toward the amusement park.
  • Beyond's Team reached a field planted with dried skeletons while Nurarihyon abandoned his search for them and headed toward the Sealed Gate.
  • Nurarihyon found Gyuki still pounding on the Sealed Gate and struck it with a powerful fist.

Ch. 432Support, breakthrough, perception

Nurarihyon regrouped with his Hundred Ghosts as Joey and his companions were caught in the Amusement Park’s sudden transformation into a nightmare. Joey fought off the ride-born children, sensed a powerful unknown figure entering Paradise, and hurried toward the Giant Tree where Ging had summoned them.

  • Nurarihyon discovered that his Hundred Ghosts could contact him again and ordered them to explore the space once they broke through the Sealed Gate.
  • Killer Queen destroyed the drop tower while rescuing Joey, and the Amusement Park transformed into a fractured hellscape as terrifying children emerged from its rides.
  • Joey used his En and the Weather Nen Beast to hold back and destroy the child chasing him from the drop tower.
  • Joey sensed an immensely powerful unknown person entering Paradise, but the stranger calmly continued into the park without confronting him.
  • Joey sensed that his companions were heading toward Ging at the Giant Tree, found that the tree repelled his En, and rushed to help them.

Ch. 433Practiced tree climbing, the treetop

Joey and the others climbed the Giant Tree to meet Ging, finding a wooden house at its treetop and learning that the being inside was asleep. As they considered how to awaken and accept it, the Town Chief approached the tree and an unknown attacker rushed at Ging.

  • The Town Chief entered the amusement park and blended into its celebration, while Joey hurried toward the Giant Tree after sensing the watcher disappear inside the park.
  • Joey regrouped with Razor, List, and the others, and they identified the Giant Tree as a smaller likeness of the Wood Wraith before passing through a barrier that absorbed Nen and life energy.
  • The group climbed the tree, spotted the Town Chief secretly heading toward them, and continued upward after finding Ging's message and photographing a God Script tablet.
  • At the treetop, they found Ging beside a flower-surrounded wooden house and felt an enormous, seemingly unconscious En coming from inside.
  • Ging explained through Nen writing that the being in the house was asleep and that they needed to awaken and accept it; as he suggested calling it out, a figure charged at him and a voice shouted, “Shut up!”

Ch. 434Children's Games: Gouging Out Eyes

Joey challenged the strange child, Jingshu, to a game of gouging out eyes and used his ability to win while protecting his companions. He then proposed a new wager: if he won another game, Jingshu would leave the mountaintop with him.

  • A black-eyed child emerged from the cabin and offered to grant a wish to anyone who played a game with it.
  • Ging asked what games it would play, and Joey chose gouging out eyes before the Town Chief could speak.
  • Joey gouged out his eyes and regenerated them with help from his companions, while the child’s linked game tore out the eyes of everyone else on the mountaintop.
  • The Town Chief tried to escape, but the child restrained him and removed his eyes; Joey declared that the child had lost, and it agreed to grant a wish.
  • Joey declined the child’s offer to play finger-cutting and body-dismantling games for three wishes, and instead wagered that it would leave with him if he won.

Ch. 435Eager to strike: Kentaiga

Joey won Kentaiga’s deadly games, and Kentaiga entered his body as the Town Chief attacked the group. Ging, Razor, List, Ida, and Elena killed the Town Chief, and Joey began speaking with Kentaiga inside his mind.

  • The child agreed to play only with Joey, and Joey won the finger-cutting game by replacing his fingers with Gold Experience.
  • The child challenged Joey to remove his heart, and Joey produced a new heart while keeping another one beating in his chest.
  • The child conceded and transformed into black threads that entered Joey, then Joey’s appearance returned to normal as the oppressive aura vanished.
  • Razor and List attacked the Town Chief, and Killer Queen blocked his counterattack while Joey pulled List to safety.
  • Ging cut the Town Chief in two after suppressing his Nen, and lightning and Nen Bullets from the group destroyed the remains.
  • Joey heard the child identify himself as Kentaiga and learned that he could sense certain moods in Joey’s thoughts.

Ch. 436Communication, Threats, and the Soul World

Joey learned that Kentaiga had used games to find someone who would take him away, then stopped a Compulsion from targeting Ging and confronted Kentaiga in his soul world. Joey destroyed Kentaiga’s consciousness and discovered he could control Kentaiga’s black Nen through Killer Queen, leaving him to investigate whether its wish-granting abilities remained.

  • Joey questioned Kentaiga about wishes and learned that Kentaiga had been trapped on the treetop and had tested visitors to find someone who would invite him away.
  • Joey began to involuntarily make a request to Ging, but used his willpower to stop himself before Ging could become the one who paid the price.
  • Joey entered his soul world with Killer Queen and realized his soul could overpower Kentaiga and that Compulsion could be stopped.
  • Joey decided Kentaiga’s consciousness was too dangerous and used Killer Queen to destroy it.
  • Joey found that the black Nen remained stable and that Killer Queen could control it, though he still needed to test whether it could grant wishes.

Ch. 437Fracture, a new Weather Report, and a cleanup

Joey discovered an exit as the space began to collapse and used Weather Report to unleash lightning and a tornado against Nurarihyon’s Hundred Ghosts. He confirmed Compulsion still activated when List approached, then faced Nurarihyon as the two drew near.

  • Ging pointed out that the sky was tearing apart, and Joey’s En revealed an exit where Nurarihyon’s Hundred Ghosts were entering.
  • Joey expanded his En to 3,700 meters and used Weather Report to create a tornado and lightning storm that devastated the Hundred Ghosts.
  • Nurarihyon sensed Joey’s Nen, recognized that the space’s restrictions had vanished, and charged toward him.
  • Joey stopped List from approaching after sensing Compulsion’s urge, confirming that the ability still worked.
  • Joey and Nurarihyon closed the distance as Joey’s group ran toward the exit.

Ch. 438Nurarihyon's ability, demands, and freezing

Joey fought Nurarihyon while using Killer Queen to test his defenses and Weather Report to manipulate the atmosphere around them. He trapped Nurarihyon in an icy enclosure, removed its atmosphere, and prepared to use the Weather Nen Beast to create an opening for First Bomb.

  • Joey had Killer Queen block Nurarihyon's attacks and asked him to give up his heart, then his head, while Nurarihyon stayed silent and counterattacked.
  • Joey kept Nurarihyon occupied as the temperature fell, the atmosphere pressed against him, and ice began forming around them.
  • Nurarihyon recognized Joey's ability as Atmosphere Manipulation, but Joey sealed them both inside ice and withdrew with Killer Queen.
  • Joey put on a Spacesuit and removed the atmosphere from the enclosure, leaving Nurarihyon in severe distress.
  • The Weather Nen Beast rose behind Joey, free to move in the vacuum, as Joey prepared to use First Bomb against Nurarihyon.

Ch. 439A forcible kill, the Dark Abyss, and a troublesome foe

Joey used Weather Report and Killer Queen to twist and freeze Nurarihyon, then struck him with a coin as Nurarihyon revived in a stronger form. Joey escaped the collapsing space and flew toward Ging and the others, as the sky shattered and chaotic spatial energy flooded in.

  • Joey used Weather Report to control Nurarihyon's blood and forcibly twist his body, but post-mortem Nen revived him in a monstrous form.
  • Nurarihyon emerged from the corpse and attacked Joey, but Weather Report's ice blades, freezing rain, and white Nen Beast slowed and trapped him.
  • Joey froze Nurarihyon and flicked a coin at him; Nurarihyon sank into darkness, leaving only ash and a coin behind.
  • Joey escaped through melting ice as the cavern froze over, then flew toward Ging and the others at the exit.
  • The sky shattered around Joey, Ging, and the others, exposing the true Chaotic Space and unleashing raging spatial energy.

Ch. 440Collapse × Request × Ease

Joey escaped the collapsing space with his companions and used Killer Queen’s request-granting power to leave the Ancient City. After confirming that the Herb had removed the soul mark and that they were no longer in danger of erosion, the group prepared to explore the Dark Continent on their own.

  • Joey escaped as the stone gate space collapsed, and the Hundred Ghosts scattered after Nurarihyon’s defeat.
  • Joey asked Ging to leave the Ancient City, and Ging agreed despite considering whether to seek more Longevity Rice.
  • Ging wished for Killer Queen to send the group near the Giant Tree outside the Forest Sea, and they arrived there safely.
  • Joey found that some black threads had vanished from Killer Queen after granting the request, while his soul and Ming’s power showed no signs of danger.
  • Ging and List confirmed that the Herb had removed their soul marks, and Joey accepted that those still in the Ancient City would have to find the Herb themselves.
  • Joey told Ging that he wanted to travel east and see the World Tree.

Ch. 441The Dark Abyss, outside the cave, and pillars of light

Nurarihyon was dragged back into the abyss as black threads sealed away its light, while Joey briefly regained control of his body and fell asleep. Outside the cave, monsters gathered and attacked as pillars of light began teleporting people and marking intruders with God Script.

  • Nurarihyon reached for a black thread, but it transformed into hands that crushed him and sealed the opening above the abyss.
  • Black threads entered Joey, Killer Queen withdrew, and Joey rested again after recalling what had happened.
  • The Hundred Ghosts and other monsters fled the Ancient City as Giant Whale, Black Dragon, and Wood Wraith waited outside the cave for what they sought.
  • A pillar of light teleported a group of humans away, prompting Black Dragon, Giant Whale, and Wood Wraith to search for them.
  • Wood Wraith’s Brion, Black Dragon’s seventeen descendants, and Giant Whale’s seven mechanical dragons entered the cave, where pillars of light pierced and branded the invading monsters with God Script.
  • More pillars appeared deeper in the cave, transporting the Phantom Troupe, Hunter Association members, Beyond’s Team, Zoldyck Family members, and Hisoka; no one from Kakin was among them.

Ch. 442Disintegration, Erosion, and the Wallet Put Away

After escaping the Labyrinth City, Joey realized that using Gold Experience let his wallet erode his soul, so he put it away despite its usefulness. The group set out east for the World Tree, traveling with Weather Report while List watched for danger.

  • The Black Dragon and Giant Whale left the ruined Labyrinth City to pursue the people carried away by pillars of light, while the Wood Wraith sensed a faint connection to them.
  • Joey and the others watched pillars of light cross the sky and saw the Black Dragon fly over their camp, but chose not to return to the Labyrinth City.
  • Joey recognized that the wallet siphoned away his soul whenever he used Gold Experience and that the Herb had only temporarily severed their connection.
  • Joey put the wallet away and considered relying on Weather Report and the Unknown Object instead of risking further soul erosion.
  • Ging woke the group, and they traveled east toward the World Tree with Weather Report carrying them while List used a Special Device to detect danger.

Ch. 443Eastern Forest Mountain? A choice

Joey and his companions debated why they could not get closer to a distant mountain as they crossed the eastern forest, then continued onward without resolving whether the forest or mountain was changing. At the Dark Gate, Cheadle’s group discovered that everyone who had entered the Ancient City was infected by a force that could eventually transform them like Brion, and they considered how to find a cure.

  • After three days crossing the eastern forest without nearing the mountain, Joey, Ging, and the others considered whether the mountain was moving or they had been shrunk.
  • Dwun argued that the group could escape a shrinking effect by continuing forward, while Joey questioned the explanation and preferred to proceed cautiously.
  • The group resumed traveling through the forest with greater purpose despite reaching no conclusion.
  • Cheadle’s Hunter Association group returned to the Dark Gate, where examinations revealed that everyone who had entered the Ancient City had been infected by a peculiar force.
  • Piyon suggested that Herb from beyond the Stone Gate might cure the infection, but Cheadle said they had no way to find the people who had left.
  • Piyon proposed consulting Virus Hunter Sambika or using God Script to slow the infection, and she hoped to find Joey and Ging for help.

Ch. 444Return, footprints, and eyes

After leaving the Ancient City, Joey’s group encountered the enormous monster whose footprints caused rapid plant growth and concealed petrifying eyes. Joey discovered that the eyes and their power came from experiments involving god script, leaving the group facing another artificial life-form on the Dark Continent.

  • Beyond continued exploring the western Dark Continent with his remaining teammates, while Chrollo sought a way to stop his body from turning to gold and refused Illumi’s proposal to return to the Ancient City.
  • On their twelfth day out, Joey, Dwun, Ging, and the others confirmed that the distant mountain was an enormous monster and examined the vast footprints it had left behind.
  • When Joey entered a footprint, rapidly growing plants attacked him with a shock wave and vines, while eyes in the ground fixed their gaze on him.
  • Razor’s Nen Beasts tested the eyes’ power and were petrified, revealing that the effect spread until its targets turned to stone.
  • After Joey withdrew and the attack subsided, he saw an eye under Ging’s shovel and recognized the god script within it as evidence that the eye had been created through experiments.

Ch. 445The Earth? Blood Giant

Joey and his companions discovered that the forest might grow on the body of a colossal underground creature, while a giant in the distance planted forests with its bloody footprints. They investigated the strange blood and tested the dangers in the sky, but Joey’s En remained blocked at the creature’s boundary, leaving them to continue exploring its body.

  • Ging and Joey uncovered more eye stalks beneath the ground, and Ging’s digging drew blood from what seemed to be an enormous creature.
  • Joey and Razor sent a Nen Beast into the sky, where a giant raptor seized and crushed it before flying away and shrinking with altitude.
  • A distant monster took a step and left a footprint that filled with blood, then rapidly grew into a forest; Joey and Ging also found plants sprouting where their collected blood had spilled.
  • List and Dwun gathered samples and began researching the blood and nearby plants while Joey and Razor tested the sky and Ging explored the new footprint with the Twin Sisters.
  • Joey’s En reached an invisible boundary about three thousand five hundred meters away, and the distant mountain-like creature proved to be a frog-like beast lying prone on the ground.

Ch. 446Gathering and heading outside!

Joey and the others left the giant beast’s back by ascending through a strange boundary where distance and size became distorted, fighting off flocks of birds along the way. They emerged above a vast plain covered with forest-like monsters and spotted enormous flying creatures, ending with the group wondering whether the birds were gathering around piles of dung.

  • Joey and the others abandoned their blood research and prepared to leave the giant beast’s back, saving the Mercenary Robot and deciding against using the Unknown Object's Request.
  • Joey used Weather Report to lift everyone toward the hundred-meter boundary, where twenty-three birds of prey attacked.
  • Joey destroyed one bird with First Bomb, while Ging twisted another with his Nen and swept away nearby attackers.
  • Beyond the boundary, the group’s vision and sense of distance distorted, so they used Nen-infused God Script stones and calculated the birds’ positions to keep attacking.
  • After three minutes, Joey and the others’ vision stabilized, revealing a vast plain covered with moving forest-like monsters and enormous cave-covered creatures overhead.
  • Joey and the others noticed birds flying toward mound-like formations behind the forests that looked like piles of dung.

Ch. 447The plain, survival of the fittest, and a river!

Joey and his companions crossed a vast plain where gigantic monsters hunted and scavenged, while discussing the mysterious powers of God Script. On the seventh day, they reached a massive river and spotted a towering building on the far bank.

  • Ging chose a direction across the plain, and Joey and the others watched a pangolin-like monster kill a frog monster while birds and hyena-like creatures fed on the fallen forest monster.
  • Joey and his companions stayed airborne and traveled across the seemingly endless plain, then camped in a dense forest and took turns keeping watch for approaching forest monsters.
  • Joey, Ging, Dwun, and List discussed studying the forest monsters' God Script, and Joey speculated that God Script might have succeeded somewhere beyond the lands they had explored.
  • After adapting to travel across the plain and collecting monster materials, Joey and his companions reached a broad, black river on their seventh day.
  • Joey magnified the view across the river and confirmed that a towering building stood on the opposite bank.

Ch. 448Want to Take a Look? Crossing the River

Joey and his companions studied the dangers around the Tower and chose to cross the river despite the monster birds guarding its banks. They fought their way through the first stretch of dead woods and reached the river, but another dangerous forest still stood between them and the Tower.

  • Ging, Joey, Dwun, and Ida agreed to investigate the Tower and cautiously approached the river.
  • Joey and the others observed mosasaurs, giant pythons, and monster birds that used Nen clones to attack creatures crossing the river.
  • The group decided to force their way through the monster birds rather than kill the birds atop the trees and risk attracting more threats.
  • Joey guided the group close to a cliff-face monster, and they fought the bird clones alongside the birds of prey emerging from its body.
  • Joey and his companions crossed the first stretch of dead woods and reached the open sky above the river, with another stretch of woods still ahead on the opposite bank.

Ch. 449Hospitality at the Tower Orchard

Joey and his companions entered the Tower, where a welcoming giant revealed that the hospitality was a trap and attacked them with an army of strange men. The battle escalated when Joey discovered the attackers were balloon-like beings whose explosions released hydrogen, leaving the group to defend themselves against a massive blast.

  • Joey and his companions crossed the river and cautiously approached the Tower through its orchard, where they found enormous footprints and could not probe the Tower with En.
  • A horned, winged giant opened the Tower door and invited Joey and the others inside, then led them to a campfire beside a wooden house and a wary monster.
  • Ging identified signs that another group had been there, prompting the giant to admit that Joey and his companions had entered a trap and attack Ging with a sickle.
  • Ging struck the giant, while hidden figures leaped from the stairs and Joey used En to detect that many more attackers were lurking above.
  • Joey and the Weather Nen Beast burst the balloon-like attackers with Ice Spires, but their bodies released hydrogen that ignited around the campfire and torches.
  • Joey's companions sheltered behind a glowing shield reinforced by the Mercenary Robot as Joey prepared to control the atmosphere beyond the explosion.

Ch. 450Hydrogen conceded, nitrogen

Joey used Weather Report to deprive the Tower of oxygen and flood it with carbon dioxide, helping him and Ging defeat the hydrogen-wielding opponent and his creatures. As the group climbed the enormous Tower, Joey discovered the insects below could recover from their injuries and froze them with liquid nitrogen.

  • Joey equipped the group with oxygen masks, removed oxygen from the Tower, and filled the space below with carbon dioxide to stop the hydrogen clones from exploding.
  • Joey’s ice spires attacked the clones, while Razor killed the opponent’s pet and gave Joey and Ging the signal to strike.
  • Ging punched the hidden opponent out from beneath the stairs, and Joey’s coin activated First Bomb, reducing the man to ash.
  • Joey and the group used the Mercenary Robot’s lights to reveal the hornet-like insects, which panicked and fell onto the ice spires.
  • Joey discovered that many fallen insects were only temporarily incapacitated and rapidly healed, then gave one to Dwun and List.
  • After the group climbed a thousand meters, Joey froze the surviving insects with liquid nitrogen instead of setting the Tower alight.

Ch. 451Statues, a breached door, and watching eyes

Joey and his companions climbed the Tower, discovered that its statues were awakened by moonlight and restrained by being watched, and found a way to damage them. After Joey’s attack triggered a statue’s stored power, explosions spread through the Tower as Ging pulled him toward the exit.

  • Joey and his companions found God Script reading “seal” among the statues, while Ging suspected the statues might run on sunlight and warned Joey against attacking them.
  • Joey, Ging, Dwun, and List reached a massive door at the top of the stairs, and Dwun later found a giant key outline on a sealed window.
  • Ging chose to break through the door rather than expose the statues to sunlight, and Joey used Killer Queen to make a hole in it.
  • Moonlight entered the Tower and awakened the statues, which stopped moving when Joey and Ging watched them; cracks and silver light began spreading across the sealed windows.
  • Joey tested the statues’ stored power by striking one with an explosive coin, causing it to rupture and blast apart nearby statues.
  • Ging grabbed Joey and leaped through the doorway as explosions began throughout the Tower.

Ch. 452Tower Top Key Activated

Joey and Ging escaped the Tower as its statues and staircase began transforming, then fought off swarms of insects and Monster Bird clones while Dwun used the key to activate a formation on the Tower's summit. A surge of Life Energy flashed, and everyone atop the Tower vanished.

  • Joey and Ging fled the Tower after moonlight caused its statues to reassemble and its staircase to come alive, and Joey discovered that his Nen inside the Tower had been severed.
  • Ging retrieved Dwun's key from the Tower as a pursuing statue and insect limbs pressed against the doorway; Joey and the others froze and attacked the insects as they poured outside.
  • Joey identified the diving Monster Birds as Nen-made copies, and Razor destroyed one wave while Dwun caught the key and drove it into the summit's God Script formation.
  • Joey used En to locate more Monster Birds and struck them with thunder and winds, while List revealed that the source of the monsters was inside the Tower.
  • The insect swarm dove toward Dwun, but flames burned it back as Dwun pushed the key fully into the formation and unleashed a surge of Life Energy.
  • The Life Energy dispersed the flames and clouds, and everyone atop the Tower vanished; Monster Bird corpses fell onto the summit as the doorway sealed itself.

Ch. 453Prohibition! Eliciting information about the constructs

Joey and Ging explored the Tower’s core, where platforms held strange constructs that drained heat from anything touching them. After the Deputy Director revealed the Exploration Team’s horrific experiments and tried to escape into a construct, Joey contained him, then headed down the Tower to investigate its depths.

  • Joey, List, and Ging discovered that the Tower was filled with platforms bearing strange constructs, and List found that touching one drained heat.
  • Joey noticed the God Script word “Prohibition” on a platform as he and List discussed exploring the Tower and questioned the Deputy Director.
  • The Deputy Director explained that the Exploration Team had created constructs through countless deaths and hinted that he had once belonged to the team.
  • The Deputy Director tried to send his eye into a Dinosaur-like construct, but Joey sealed the eye and the rest of him in separate boxes, which List secured inside a glued Nesting Doll.
  • Joey and Ging discussed the construct and the Exploration Team before Joey flew down through the Tower to investigate its depths.

Ch. 454Blue Ghost, Small Cube, Black Threads

Joey discovered that a blue ghost had been secretly influencing his emotions and tried to force it out of the Tower. Heating an aggregate transformed it into a golden cube, drawing the ghost into the open and leaving Joey to restrain it with black threads.

  • Joey noticed his urge to destroy the Tower was unnatural, and a blue figure emerged from his body before Killer Queen could strike him.
  • Joey concluded that the blue figure had been influencing his emotions and used flames to investigate the aggregates rather than attack the Tower.
  • Joey's flames melted an aggregate and transformed its stone slab into a golden cube, which he caught using Mirage.
  • A blue ghost rushed toward the cube, and Joey recognized him as a human from the city a thousand years ago.
  • Joey trapped the ghost with black threads controlled by Killer Queen and ignited flames around him, while the terrified ghost begged for mercy.

Ch. 455Compulsion? Breakdown and collection

Joey used the compulsion to make Blue Ghost mutilate himself before an unseen force erased him, then collected all five thousand Small Cubes from the Tower. After the group opened the Tower’s gate and emerged into the sky, Joey tested a Small Cube on attacking birds and absorbed them into it.

  • Joey ordered Blue Ghost to give him body parts, and Blue Ghost tore out his limbs and organs before an invisible force distorted and erased him.
  • Joey asked Ging whether Blue Ghost had said anything useful, then gave the Small Cube to Ging, List, and Dwun to study while he resumed collecting cubes.
  • Joey gathered all five thousand Small Cubes over several days, and the group discovered that feeding Nen to the Tower’s door would open it.
  • Razor used a Nen Bullet to open the gate, and Joey and the others emerged into the sky above another dark Tower before Joey used En to right their fall.
  • Strange birds dived at the group, and Joey released a Small Cube that pulled them inside and began glowing with increasing Life Energy.
