While Mo Yan was taking his first steps toward making light and darkness coexist, let us turn back the clock to before Witchmon appeared.
Above the Twin Towers, a mass of data vast enough to connect two worlds was gathering.
The Digimon hidden throughout Shinjuku were forcibly dragged toward the vortex formed by the "Extermination Plan."
In the end, the vortex shredded them, turning them into part of the data that composed it and steadily strengthening its power.
"Hahaha, that's it! Wild artificial intelligence life doesn't deserve to exist in this world!"
Watching the wild Digimon being exterminated one after another, and the vortex growing stronger and extending its reach, Yamaki looked almost crazed.
Deep down, Yamaki rejected these nonhuman intelligent beings-the Digimon, these wild artificial intelligence life forms.
He believed that artificial intelligence life forms with such immense power and unpredictable natures had no right to exist in the real world.
That was why he wanted to drive these Digimon out of the human world, or even destroy them!
What Yamaki did not know was that his actions were actually widening the passage connecting the human world and the Digital World. They could neither eradicate the Digimon nor prevent them from coming to the human world.
All this would do was allow even stronger Digimon to enter the real world.
Mo Yan, however, was rather grateful for Yamaki's madness.
Had Yamaki not stubbornly insisted on launching the "Extermination Plan," Mo Yan would have had no idea how to gather such a vast and varied collection of data.
For that, Mo Yan could only silently offer Director Yamaki his blessings.
May this good man live a long and peaceful life!
At that thought, Mo Yan could not help looking toward the data vortex, formed from a mass of data vast enough to span both worlds.
Under Mo Yan's control, the Wizard DigiCore stealthily appeared at a spot along the edge of the data vortex.
The Wizard's data began drifting out, eventually forming a phantom image of Wizardmon.
"What a magnificent sight. A pity I wasn't the one who created it."
With Mo Yan's consciousness as its source and the Wizard's data filling in the rest, a complete consciousness whose thought patterns more closely resembled a Wizard's emerged and voiced a startling remark.
"Get on with the plan. Don't waste your energy."
Just as Wizard Mo Yan was about to delve into the principles behind the formation of this data vortex, Original Self Mo Yan urged him on.
"Interrupting a genius Wizard's thoughts is exceedingly rude."
Tugging on his broad hat brim, Wizard Mo Yan looked thoroughly displeased.
Still, Wizard Mo Yan did not actually disregard everything else to study how the vortex had formed.
He extended his right hand and beckoned. The Crystal Ball hidden in the Alternate-Dimensional Space immediately appeared and flew to his side.
Wizard Mo Yan stroked the Crystal Ball, then tapped it with a finger, activating the power of the four elements stored inside.
Although the four elements within the Crystal Ball had already reached a certain balance that was difficult to disturb, he still had a way.
As its creator, Wizard Mo Yan could still harness the Crystal Ball's power, releasing the power of the four elements to protect himself.
After all, the current Wizard Mo Yan was merely a phantom formed through the Wizard DigiCore and had little power of his own to use.
For scholarly Digimon like Wizard Mo Yan, however, the knowledge stored in their minds was their greatest and most precious power.
With the Crystal Ball in hand, Wizard Mo Yan could use it to cast "Advanced Programming Language Magic" and perform all kinds of magical editing.
That would let him manipulate the surrounding data through magic and bring his ideas to life.
Wizard Mo Yan brought the Crystal Ball, which was releasing its power, before his eyes and examined it. After confirming that his use of it had not affected the changes already taking place inside, he made it hover above his head.
He did this partly so the Crystal Ball could protect him more effectively.
It also made it easier for Wizard Mo Yan to perform magical editing with "Advanced Programming Language Magic."
"Does this count as an otherworldly, bargain-basement Heaven and Earth Pagoda?!"
Looking up at the spinning Crystal Ball as it cast down streams of four-colored light to protect him, Wizard Mo Yan gave a self-deprecating chuckle.
Under the Crystal Ball's protection, Wizard Mo Yan slowly approached the center of the data vortex.
The closer he drew to the center, the greater the resistance he encountered and the more pressure the Crystal Ball endured.
Soon, the four-colored light streaming down from the Crystal Ball began to flicker.
This was not because the Crystal Ball was ineffective or too weak, but because it was not yet fully complete.
The data of the four elements inside it was still continuously adjusting and balancing itself, undergoing a higher-level fusion of data.
As a result, the power the Crystal Ball could currently display was not actually very great.
The fact that it could protect Wizard Mo Yan as he kept approaching the center of the data vortex already demonstrated its tremendous potential.
Thus, Wizard Mo Yan stopped advancing toward the center and stood firmly in place.
Looking at the center of the data vortex not far away, Wizard Mo Yan began his magical editing.
Using the Crystal Ball's power, Wizard Mo Yan first captured data relating to the earth element, solidity, and similar properties.
He intended to use this as the foundational data for forging the "Flame Sword," allowing it to contain more violent data.
Next, he gathered data relating to the water element, flexibility, protection, and similar properties for the hilt and guard, ensuring that his own "Flame Sword" would not injure him.
Then Wizard Mo Yan collected data relating to the wind element, sharpness, penetration, and similar properties.
This data would compose the blade of the "Flame Sword," maximizing its lethality in close combat.
Finally, Wizard Mo Yan used data relating to the fire element, explosions, scorching, and similar properties as the foundational data for the "Flame Sword's" magical aspects.
This approach greatly increased the "Flame Sword's" magical offensive capabilities.
With that, Wizard Mo Yan completed the preliminary construction of the "Flame Sword."
Next, he would use the immense pressure of the data vortex to complete the final forging of the "Flame Sword."
As it happened, Wizard Mo Yan knew the data arrangement for chrono digi-alloy, as well as its forging method.
Original Self Mo Yan had swallowed his pride and asked Angemon for the formula.
After all, when it came to which faction had the most powerful and extravagant armaments, the angels of the Realm of the Gods undoubtedly took first place.
Naturally, Mo Yan had swallowed his pride and asked them for the formula.
Fortunately, this formula was not particularly precious in the Realm of the Gods.
For one thing, forging chrono digi-alloy required an enormous amount of data.
For another, Mo Yan already had an Angel Form, and the angels were very generous toward their own kind.
Just as Wizard Mo Yan was about to condense chrono digi-alloy to forge the "Flame Sword," he sensed two very familiar data fluctuations, one following the other.
Wizard Mo Yan immediately concealed his presence.
A moment later, he saw a red figure flying toward Original Self Mo Yan.
Then the figure of Winged Tiger appeared on the rooftop of the Twin Towers below.
At the same time, Takato Matsuki and his companions arrived outside the building.
