Background / History
Stranded in the Digital World
Alice’s father, Keith McCoy, participated in Digimon design alongside the research associated with Rob McCoy’s Wild Bunch. During an incident involving contact with the Digital World, Alice and Keith were drawn into it and separated. Keith remained missing after Alice’s eventual return 57.
Alice arrived in the domain of the Four Holy Beasts while they were assembled. Zhuqiaomon secured the right to care for her and assigned Gazimon—the future Dobermon—to look after the frightened child. Their time together changed both of them: Gazimon became a loyal, dependable Dobermon, while Alice grew calmer and more reserved 57.
Rob McCoy continued searching until Zhuqiaomon detected his transmissions. The Four Holy Beasts traced the signal and sent Alice home. She subsequently lived with her grandfather, who took her with him on his travels and supported her adjustment to human life 57.
Before her departure, Zhuqiaomon instructed Alice not to reveal her experiences, citing the safety of Alice and both worlds. Keeping this secret even from her grandfather left her emotionally isolated 62.
Becoming Wormmon’s Tamer
Alice discovered a D-Ark beside her bedroom window. It projected a white Digi-Egg with green markings, which transformed after she touched it. Wormmon emerged and became her partner. Although she regretted that her partner was not Dobermon, she welcomed Wormmon affectionately 57 58.
Wormmon’s arrival also allowed Rob McCoy to openly acknowledge Digimon in their household. Their shared meals, teasing, and research helped Alice become noticeably more cheerful. Rob began studying the D-Ark and supplying cards to support her partnership 58 62 64.
Alice and Wormmon then encountered a succession of insect- and plant-type opponents. The pattern made them suspect outside interference. After Kuwagamon’s behavior reinforced those suspicions, Alice considered the King of Insects as a possible organizer but lacked evidence or a clear motive 64 65.
Joining the Other Tamers
After meeting Calumon, Alice followed her to the battlefield where Takato Matsuki’s group faced Vajramon. Alice directed Flymon to distract the enormous opponent, then used Mo Yan’s blue card to evolve him into Jewelbeemon 65 66 67.
When Makuramon abducted Calumon, Alice approached Takato, Rika Makino, and Li Jianliang about their proposed rescue journey. Her decision was also personal: she longed to see Dobermon and the Four Holy Beasts again. Despite his reservations, Rob accepted her choice and entrusted her protection to Wormmon 70.
In the Digital World, Alice and Flymon reached Zhuqiaomon’s temple with the other children and joined the battle against Mo Yan’s Devimon guise 92.
Dobermon’s Death and BloomLordmon
Dobermon secretly called Alice away from Zhuqiao Shrine. Their joyful reunion turned violent when she introduced Wormmon as her partner: Dobermon attacked him, and Knightmon Legendary Mode intervened. Lilithmon then emerged from Dobermon’s black data, revealing that she had amplified his jealousy 104.
Lilithmon corrupted Dobermon into Hellhoundmon. Alice asked Wormmon to save him and used cards to support his evolution into Jewelbeemon. Although Jewelbeemon briefly restored Dobermon’s awareness, Knightmon’s attacks mortally wounded him. Dobermon protected Jewelbeemon and entrusted Alice’s safety to him before disappearing 105.
Gallantmon shielded Alice and Wormmon from Knightmon, giving them a chance to escape. Alice initially fled because she could not bear to lose another companion. After Wormmon reaffirmed that he fought for her, they chose to return and demand an explanation for Dobermon’s treatment. Their renewed bond led to their fusion into BloomLordmon 106 107.
Following the battle, Sassumusmon told Alice that Dobermon could be restored if his data were recovered. He concealed the difficulty of doing so because Mo Yan’s plan required her to remain hopeful. Takato and Guilmon promised to help retrieve the data from Knightmon 114.
DigiDeath and Wormmon’s Departure
Alice later joined the children and researchers at Yamaki Mitsuo’s base as they investigated DigiDeath. The group trained to strengthen themselves and their partners before the final confrontation 170.
During the assault on DigiDeath’s Nidhogg Beast avatar, BloomLordmon attacked alongside Sakuyamon and ApolloMon. The children’s DigiSoul awakened as Nidhogg destroyed the surrounding city and fed its data to DigiDeath 172 173.
After the Restoration Program was implanted, DigiDeath’s transformation undid the children’s fusions. Mo Yan rescued them from their fall. Wormmon then began returning to the source of his data—a summons he could not resist even after attaining BloomLordmon’s power. Alice tried to protect him and begged him not to leave, but he dissolved into light and returned to Mo Yan 175.
Wormmon’s data merged with Dobermon’s to form a green-and-white Digi-Egg, which flew to Alice. She was later shown crying while holding it at New Nishijuku Park, with the remaining companions staying to comfort her 175 181.
Appearance
- Hair: Brilliant blond 57.
- Eyes: Clear sky-blue 57.
- Clothing: Favors Gothic outfits 57 70.
- Bearing: Carefully arranged posture and formal gestures give her a distinctive air of elegance and nobility 70.
Personality
Alice is reserved, composed, and unusually mature for her age. Her experiences in the Digital World and the secrecy surrounding them made her withdrawn; Rob observed that she could seem so sensible and burdened that it was painful to watch. Wormmon’s companionship brought back her playful side, including a willingness to tease her grandfather 62 66.
Her manners remain restrained even in battle. Unlike Takato and the others, she is uncomfortable shouting encouragement wildly. She is also selective about approaching people: her initial interest in other Tamers comes partly from wondering whether they have experiences like her own, while the chance to return to the Digital World draws her into their group despite her reluctance to socialize 66 67 70.
Alice is deeply protective of her companions but respects their wishes. She worries about Wormmon being injured, yet agrees to let him fight after hearing his determination to evolve. Dobermon’s death intensifies her fear of losing Wormmon, but she ultimately chooses to face danger with him rather than abandon their unanswered questions 62 106.
Her upbringing also gives her a pragmatic view of power. Suspecting that a powerful figure is arranging their encounters, she concludes that sufficient strength is necessary to stand on equal terms with a potential enemy and retain the ability to choose 65.
