Mo Yan guided the DigiDestined and trained Impmon and Guilmon while pursuing his own evolution and preparing to interfere with Yamaki’s plan. After gaining Demon Lord data and asserting his ties to Qinglongmon and the Realm of the Gods, he continued training the Digimon and studying the dark attribute.

• Mo Yan accepted Qinglongmon’s mission, awakened his abilities, and entered the human world after defeating Allomon.
• Mo Yan tested Rika Makino, Takato Matsuki, and Li Jianliang and explained the Digital World, their partners, and the dangers of the weakening barrier.
• Mo Yan trained Impmon in magic, while he and Takato helped Guilmon fight a dragon duel that ended with Guilmon devolving and Mo Yan absorbing some of his data.

After unifying his twelve DigiCores, Mo Yan investigated Sandiramon, who fell to the children’s Digimon and warned them that the Deva had come to the Human World.

• Mo Yan confronted Witchmon after she split into two forms, then used their clash and his experiments to create the Holy Ring and Dark Angemon, balancing light and darkness.
• As the Extermination Plan widened the passage between worlds, Wizard Mo Yan forged the Flame Sword from chrono digi-alloy and evolved into Grand Mage Beast using Calumon’s Evolution Light.
• Wizard Mo Yan suppressed the children’s Digimon and separated Impmon, who faced Dark Impmon, accepted his fears, and evolved into Wizardmon.
• Wizard Mo Yan taught Wizardmon about evolution and the Knowledge Treasury, then left him a DigiCore as Wizardmon set out to find Xiao Ai and A Zhen.
• Mo Yan’s twelve DigiCores reorganized and unified his data, allowing him to become Grand Mage Beast and take Dark Witchmon to investigate Sandiramon.
• Mo Yan questioned Sandiramon about Zhuqiaomon and heard of his doubts about serving as easy prey for the children, then teleported away with Dark Witchmon.

Mo Yan helped the Two Worlds' United Will create a partner for Alice and entered the Iron Empire’s factory while Alice and Wormmon began fighting Digimon. As the children prepared to rescue Calumon, Mo Yan pursued new evolutions and the Dark Digicore transformed into Cerberumon.

• Mo Yan sent Dark Witchmon to Witchelny, then worked with SageMon and the Two Worlds' United Will on a plan involving BloomLordmon’s data and a human girl.
• Mo Yan created a Digi-Egg that hatched as Wormmon for Alice, who welcomed him as her partner despite wishing she had been paired with Dobermon.
• Mo Yan connected Machinedramon to his factory network, chose Darkdramon’s data for his mechanical DigiCore, and began studying how to build the form himself.
• Alice and Rob McCoy joined Wormmon in the Digital World, where Alice used a Digimon Card to defeat Dokunemon and Wormmon later evolved into Flymon while fighting Kuwagamon.
• Alice and Flymon joined Takato Matsuki and the others against a rampaging Vajramon, and Mo Yan gave Alice a card that evolved Flymon into Jewelbeemon.
• The group defeated Vajramon, but Makuramon seized Calumon and escaped through a rift, and Zhuqiaomon struck Leomon, and a new D-Ark appeared before Juri Katou.
• Mo Yan trained in the Iron Empire’s Hypergravity Chamber and evolved Flame Angemon and Dark Angemon’s merged data into Holy Angemon: Priest Mode.
• Mo Yan formed a Dark Digicore from his emotions and other powers, and it transformed into Cerberumon.

Mo Yan developed new DigiCore fusions and helped reshape the holy Digimon’s Eight Virtues project around traits children could embody. While his forms pushed Takato Matsuki and Guilmon into becoming Gallantmon, Mo Yan took charge of the project and received two Digi-Eggs with Yggdrasill’s support.

• Knightmon absorbed Mythological Data and became Knightmon Legendary Mode before Mo Yan was pulled through the rift and returned to Broken Royal Magic Academy.
• Mo Yan combined Grand Mage Beast and Knightmon Legendary Mode into Mage Knightmon during a duel with SageMon, but SageMon defeated him.
• Mo Yan proposed eight positive character traits to replace the Eight Virtues, and MedievalDukemon revealed that the council already suspected his soul came from another world.
• Mo Yan secured Blazing Angemon’s acceptance of the revised traits at the Forest of Life and gave Zhuqiaomon two Digicores as compensation for taking Impmon as his student.
• New Species Devimon swallowed Leomon’s data and provoked Takato Matsuki into driving Great Growlmon’s evolution into Examon.
• New Species Devimon fused the Devimon, Cerberumon, and Darkdramon DigiCores to overpower Examon, after which Takato Matsuki and Guilmon underwent Matrix Evolution into Gallantmon.
• Mo Yan kept Devimon fighting Gallantmon while he accepted responsibility for the eight-trait project, redesigned the receivers, and requested partners for eight human children.
