Another possibility had appeared under mutation evolution, and the moment its name appeared, it caught Mo Si's eye.
[Electronic Dragonmon: 1%]
Seeing that name, Mo Si froze for a moment.
There was a famous saying in the Digimon series: all beasts came from Koromon, and all vaccines came from Agumon.
It meant Koromon could evolve into most Digimon, while Agumon could evolve into most Vaccine-type Digimon.
In other words, Digimon evolution wasn't a single, fixed path, but a branching network. What any given Digimon might eventually become was anyone's guess.
Even so, Mo Si had never expected her Angewomon form to have any connection to Electronic Dragonmon.
Was it because her magic power had a lightning attribute as well as a dragon attribute?
Lightning and electronics weren't the same thing, were they?
"Electronic Dragonmon... another Ultimate."
Looking at this new evolution possibility, Mo Si felt it offered little appeal, yet seemed a waste to discard.
Angewomon said, "Looks like even after absorbing Dragon Slayer Magic Power, reaching Mega is still too difficult for us."
Mo Si understood. It was like an average high school student hoping to get into Tsinghua and Peking University. There was nothing wrong with having a dream, but without the ability or the luck, a dream was all it would ever be.
"Fallen evolution really is the most efficient option."
The other evolution paths were too hard to follow.
Mo Si decided she could gather all the fallen evolution possibilities first, then expand into other evolutions. She opened the details for fallen evolution and checked her chance of evolving into LadyDevimon.
[LadyDevimon: 1%]
It hadn't increased at all. It was exactly the same as when it first appeared.
Mo Si thought, Maybe my luck is incredible today. Even with a one-percent chance, I might pull LadyDevimon outright.
Trying once was better than thinking it over a hundred times.
Once the numbness faded, Mo Si hopped off the bed and stood up.
"Digisoul, charge!"
She ignited her Digisoul and slammed it into her abdomen with her palm.
It was the same process as all her previous gacha pulls.
After she injected her Digisoul, a phantom image would emerge over her body, representing one of her possible evolutions.
Sukamon, Sukamon, Sukamon... Scumon, Scumon, Scumon...
Although those two were important parts of the Digital World's ecosystem, to Mo Si, they were both failed results with no value worth accepting.
Of today's ten pulls, nine had been those failed results. The remaining one was ZombieSatanmon, but she already had that evolution, so pulling it again was useless.
I'm blonde and blue-eyed, yet I still don't have god-tier luck... huh, I guess South Africa has plenty of blond, blue-eyed people too.
Tch!
Mo Si pursed her lips. Apparently, looks weren't enough to fool the system.
"Come to think of it, I was trying to pull a card from mutation evolution during those last few attempts, but ZombieSatanmon from fallen evolution showed up instead. Are all these card pools mixed together?"
That wasn't good news.
It meant her chances of pulling failed results had gone up.
Angewomon analyzed the situation. "The more evolution paths you have, the more chaotic the data inside you becomes, and the easier it is to evolve into Sukamon or Scumon. That makes sense."
In other words, it was a jumble rather than anything pure.
Mo Si sighed deeply. "Looks like I'll have to think things through before adding more evolution possibilities. I can't just add whatever I want."
Angewomon comforted her. "But we can still increase our chances of evolving into a particular Digimon through certain actions. We usually call that process 'training.'"
Mo Si said, "I brought Etemon and the others somewhere relatively safe. That should count as a great act of merit, but my chances of evolving into either MagnaAngemon or Sanzang Beast haven't increased."
After a moment's thought, Angewomon suggested, "Give up lust. Delete the fallen evolution possibilities entirely."
Mo Si pondered that. "Do you have any other suggestions?"
Angewomon had known that was coming. With a helpless sigh, she said, "Read Buddhist sutras. Sanzang Beast is connected to Buddhism, so reading Buddhist sutras might serve as material for evolving into Sanzang Beast."
"That makes sense. I wonder if tapping an Electronic Wooden Fish would earn me merit."
Mo Si thought it over, but could only put the plan off.
She had neither Buddhist sutras nor a wooden fish on hand.
Besides, was simply reading the sutras enough, or did she have to understand them too? That would be far too difficult.
She gazed helplessly at the television. Suddenly, an idea struck her. She called Headquarters and summoned Megumi Shirakawa, the DATS operator on duty that night.
"Miss Angewomon, is there something you need?" Megumi Shirakawa asked.
Even Angewomon was curious. What was Mo Si planning?
Mo Si asked, "Do you have any Buddhist sutras?"
"Huh?" Megumi Shirakawa froze for a moment.
You're an angel. Why do you want Buddhist sutras instead of the Bible?
Thinking of switching employers?
Megumi Shirakawa gave an awkward smile. "Sorry, we don't have any of those scriptures here."
Mo Si pointed at the television. "Then help me turn on the pay channels."
Megumi Shirakawa's breath caught. For a moment, she thought she had misheard. Staring blankly at Mo Si, she asked, "Miss Angewomon, do you know what's on the pay channels?"
Mo Si said, "Of course. Evolution material."
Megumi Shirakawa sucked in a breath and took half a step back. "Are you serious?"
Mo Si countered, "Do I look like I'm joking?"
Megumi Shirakawa stared hard at Mo Si. Although she could only see half her face, that was still enough to tell she was a stunning beauty. Her skin was truly enviable.
But who could have imagined such a beauty had a fetish like this!
Unable to read an expression through the mask, Megumi Shirakawa could only study her mouth and cheeks.
They looked like snow-white jade painted with lip gloss. Even she felt a fleeting urge to take a nibble.
Most importantly, she could tell Mo Si was serious.
What else could she do?
She could only enable the pay channels for Mo Si.
Watching the figures posing seductively on-screen, Megumi Shirakawa's gaze grew unfocused. She asked doubtfully, "Can this kind of thing really serve as evolution material?"
She had thought this Angewomon wanted to switch over to Buddhism. She hadn't expected her to be switching over to hell instead.
Was this really Angewomon?
Megumi Shirakawa felt her head spinning. Everything she had learned about Digimon suddenly seemed inadequate.
Mo Si chuckled. "Digimon are pretty amazing, aren't they?"
"..."
"Want to watch together?"
"No, I still have my shift." Megumi Shirakawa blushed slightly, but otherwise showed little embarrassment. After politely declining, she hurried back to work.
"What a hardworking employee."
Mo Si sighed in admiration, then turned her attention to the television screen.
Perhaps she had grown used to Angewomon's appearance, raising her standards accordingly. Her verdict on what she saw on television was... nothing special.
They weren't even as good-looking as she was.
Apparently, this material wasn't enough to make her evolve.
Hmm?
Just then, Mo Si suddenly noticed that her chance of evolving into LadyDevimon had increased.
[LadyDevimon: 2%]
Mo Si didn't feel any different. Had something changed in Angewomon's mindset?
The chance of evolving into LadyDevimon had appeared when Angewomon's consciousness awakened. If Mo Si had been on her own, that evolution path would never have appeared at all.
Therefore, it could only have been a change in Angewomon that caused the chance of evolving into LadyDevimon to change as well.
People took on the colors of the company they kept. After spending so much time with a pervert like Mo Si, even the pure Angewomon had indeed begun to change.
