"This is... Righteous Energy!"
A person of Righteous Energy when with Righteous Energy, a person of Dark Energy when with Dark Energy-Mo Si had originally said that offhand, half in jest, but she had never expected it to let her sense Righteous Energy.
She was currently in her Blood Queen form, having taken over the Myotismon Soul. She should only have been able to sense Dark Energy. To her in this state, Righteous Energy should have felt like an electric shock, causing pain that pierced her to the bone.
Yet now she could actually sense Righteous Energy without suffering any harm. Did that mean... both sides had accepted her?
She released her Take Over Magic and returned to her Angewomon form. Sure enough, she could still sense Dark Energy.
"Unity of Saint and Demon!"
In a world balanced between Righteous Energy and Dark Energy, this was practically the ultimate build, an existence like the world's own chosen child. What an unexpected boon.
"Bell-bottoms, the seventies... How am I supposed to get back to my own time?"
Jade sat on a bench, sighing.
She was clever beyond her years, but clever people often had more worries.
That morning, she had used the Rabbit Talisman to get to school so she wouldn't be late.
And she hadn't been late-she had simply arrived more than twenty years early!
Afterward, she had tried to return to her own time by repeating the process, but no matter how she ran with the Rabbit Talisman, it hadn't worked.
Clever as she was, she had more or less guessed why. The Rabbit Talisman was missing something it had had that morning.
For example, the high-frequency laser developed by a scientist at Section 13.
That was the problem. She had no way to get hold of that sort of high-frequency laser now. So even with the Rabbit Talisman, which embodied the power of speed, she couldn't travel through time again and return to her own era.
That was what was troubling her now.
"Impossible!"
"It is possible!"
Not far away, a boy wearing glasses pointed at a wall more than twice his height and told another boy, "Nobody can get over that wall. It's way too high."
"I can!"
An Asian boy stepped forward. He was around ten, wearing a blue shirt and light brown pants.
Jade looked toward the voice, fixing her gaze on the Asian boy.
Uncle Jackie?
Though he was still only a child, he managed to reach the top of the wall with two jumps, using the wall for leverage. But he lost his balance and fell, about to hit the ground and hurt himself.
Jade hurriedly lunged over. They still ended up taking a tumble, but at least Young Jackie Chun wasn't hurt.
That was how the two met.
"Someday, I'll jump over it," Young Jackie Chun said firmly.
Jade smiled. "I believe you."
Forget a wall. You'll be jumping over trains someday. You're practically Superman!
During their conversation, they brought up Uncle.
Jade perked up and smiled happily. "That's right, there's still Uncle's True Magic! I'm so dumb."
Although she couldn't find a machine capable of firing a high-frequency laser, technology wasn't the only thing in this world. There was also True Magic.
Uncle's chi magic would surely be able to send her back to her own time!
She immediately asked Young Jackie Chun to take her to his home, which was also where Uncle's antique shop would stand more than twenty years later.
They pushed the door open and went inside, setting off the doorbell with a chime.
"Welcome... Jackie, is this your friend?" The speaker was a middle-aged man-Uncle himself.
But unlike the white-haired old man Jade remembered, the Uncle before her still had black hair.
"Where are the antiques?" Seeing the tidy shop and shelves full of tapes, without a single one of the antique vases she knew so well, Jade couldn't help growing curious.
Uncle said in surprise, "You're the second person to say that to me today. Is this really a good place to sell antiques? I was planning to open an eight-track tape store."
Jade asked in puzzlement, "The second? Who was the first?"
Uncle said, "A lady just came by wanting to buy this place to sell antiques."
"Huh?" Jade sank into thought.
Ding~
The doorbell rang again as someone else pushed open the door.
Four men of varying heights and builds barged in-the Black Hand quartet.
First was Finn.
He was six feet tall, with slicked-back red hair, wearing a white suit and a pink shirt.
Second was Chow.
He was slightly shorter than Finn, nearsighted and wearing yellow glasses, a black suit, and a gray shirt.
Third was Ratso.
He was six foot three, looked a little dim, and wore a black suit with a white shirt.
Last was Tohru.
He stood over six foot eleven, with the build of a sumo wrestler. Both tall and broad, he was like a wall standing there.
Seeing these familiar faces, Jade gave an awkward laugh. "They're probably not nine, are they?"
Clearly not. They were the men from Jade's own time.
They had traveled through time just for the Talisman in Jade's hands.
But now, all of them noticed Young Jackie Chun.
"That's Jackie Chun!"
"He looks so little."
"If we take him out, he'll never grow up!"
Finn, Chow, Ratso, and Tohru all wore dark expressions.
Before they had met Jackie Chun, every one of them had been riding high and delivering impressive results.
But after meeting Jackie Chun, they had all started turning into comedians.
Ding~
Just as both sides were gearing up for a fight, the doorbell rang once more.
Everyone looked toward the sound.
Finn's eyes lit up when he saw the newcomer. "Whoa, lady, this shop's pretty busy right now. Come back another day."
The figure at the door smiled. "That's all right. You're the ones I'm looking for."
The newcomer was none other than Mo Si.
Mo Si, back in her Angewomon form.
"Looks like someone wants to stick her nose where it doesn't belong." Completely unaware that he was facing the ultimate build, Finn walked up with a smile, clenching his fists and putting on a fierce expression to scare the lady away.
He was a gentleman. Unless he absolutely had to, he didn't want to hit a lady.
Swish!
It was fast.
Like a nimble white python, it struck Finn across the neck.
A closer look revealed an arm clad in a white glove, its material resembling both silk and rubber, with two little wings on either side of the wrist. It was Mo Si's left arm in her Angewomon form.
"..."
Finn's eyes rolled back, and he crumpled to the floor, sleeping like a baby.
"Huh?!"
Chow, Ratso, and Tohru were startled at the sight and immediately abandoned their plans to enjoy the show.
She's trouble!
"Whoa!" Jade, Uncle, and Young Jackie Chun exclaimed in amazement.
Chow, Ratso, and Tohru grew serious. When they had first met Jackie Chun, they had thought he was just an archaeologist, only to discover he was Superman.
The same went for this strangely dressed woman before them.
Finn's carelessness had played a part, but she absolutely couldn't be underestimated!
The three exchanged glances and instantly made their decision.
Chow and Ratso attacked from either side while Tohru charged head-on.
"Yaaah!!!"
"..."
Unhurried, Mo Si radiated purple light from her entire body.
Heavenly Purple Light, second form-Solar Flare!
Simply put, she converted Heavenly Purple Light into a dazzling radiance with no physical attack power.
Dark and evil beings would still suffer burns, but although Chow, Ratso, and Tohru worked for the Black Hand, they were ordinary humans. So they merely found it blinding.
Chow fared best because he wore yellow glasses. Though they were tinted prescription glasses, they still served somewhat like sunglasses.
Mo Si dashed forward, approaching Chow first.
"Huh?" Startled, Chow hurriedly took a fighting stance.
Despite appearances, while he couldn't beat Jackie Chun, he was still an expert compared to ordinary people.
Thud!
One knife-hand strike sent Chow to the floor, sleeping like a baby as well.
Ratso came next, then Tohru.
Tohru was tough and thick-skinned, so an ordinary knife-hand strike didn't work on him. She had to hit him a few more times.
Jade, Uncle, and Young Jackie Chun watched, dumbfounded.
"How do you glow, Mo Si?" Jade asked. She still remembered Mo Si's name.
"With Magic Power, of course." Mo Si raised her right hand and extended a finger, which began to glow.
Jade couldn't see anything resembling a flashlight. Certain that this was Magic Power, she asked, "You're a mage? Great! Listen, I'm from the future."
"I know," Mo Si said with a smile.
Jade froze for a moment, then asked delightedly, "Then can you send me back?"
Mo Si pointed at the unconscious Finn, Chow, Ratso, and Tohru. "These people came after you, so of course they brought a way to get back. Search them."
Jade immediately searched them and, sure enough, found a crystal ball.
