The shaking split the earth into four, and cracks spread up from deep underground.
Xu Zimo looked up to see a massive stone giant emerge from the ruins.
Like a molten beast, its body was made of scorched stone, with streams of lava burning across it.
Low growls rumbled from its mouth.
"It's a beast formed by a formation," Ji Jiuning said gravely.
"How about we join forces and deal with it?"
Xu Zimo glanced at her without speaking. Overlord Shadow in his hand slashed out with a heaven-shaking blade force.
The Blade Light shrieked, its dazzling radiance flashing across the world before bursting forth.
The blade force swept forward, carving a bottomless fissure through the earth along the deep pit.
Then the heaven-shaking blade force engulfed and annihilated everything in its path.
The molten beast let out a roar, but before it could act, it was reduced to ashes.
"You..." Ji Jiuning was momentarily stunned.
"Now you know you're unnecessary?" Xu Zimo turned and asked.
He stood with his blade sheathed and looked toward where the molten beast had vanished. A red-and-yellow gemstone had appeared there.
He grabbed the gemstone, and the number "100" instantly appeared before him.
"What is this?" Xu Zimo frowned slightly.
"Points for the competition," Ji Jiuning explained.
"This final battleground is like a contest. Killing opponents earns you points as well.
"The one with the highest score in the end will be first place."
At this, Ji Jiuning smiled again. "Of course, if you can kill every opponent, then from a certain perspective, you'll count as first place too."
"I understand." Xu Zimo nodded, then drew his blade and pointed it at Ji Jiuning.
"Then you count as points too."
"Young Master wouldn't be so heartless, would he?" Ji Jiuning froze briefly, then chuckled.
