Background

Xu Zimo chose Overlord Shadow from the Divine Weapon Pavilion despite its ordinary appearance. In his previous life, he only understood its spirit after it was severed by Chu Yang's weapon at Youlong Ravine; hearing its mournful cry convinced him that a weapon was more than a killing tool. In his new life, he resolved to awaken and fight beside it rather than repeat that regret. 8

At the Sword Washing Pool, Xu Zimo awakened Overlord Shadow's spirituality and raised it from a mortal artifact to Yellow Tier. He later tempered it with lightning and torrent power before advancing it to Heavenly Tier, which awakened the Shadow Dragon soul contained within the saber. 68 71 72 127 144

Overlord Shadow shattered under the strain of Xu Zimo's full-power clash with True Man Pudu and the Half Moon Sage. Xu Zimo personally collected its fragments after the battle. 930

It was eventually restored and strengthened through fusion. The True God Sword granted it size-changing properties, while the completed fusion with the Xuan Yuan Sword gave it the ability to collect the Power of All Beings. Overlord Shadow began as a five-foot, slightly curved blade with a sharp edge, a heavy grip, and a plain exterior. Its repeated awakenings, tempering, and fusions transformed it into an overtly demonic artifact. 8 68 1209 1716
