Chapter 48: Divine Sun Sacred Sect
The group consisted of three people, two men and one woman, all wearing light gold robes and riding Blazing Steeds.
"It's disciples from the Divine Sun Sacred Sect," Xiao Guizi said, his gaze narrowing slightly.
The Divine Sun Sacred Sect was also an Imperial Lineage Immortal Sect in the Far West, established by Great Emperor Divine Sun.
However, compared to a sect like the True Martial Sacred Sect, which had a legacy of four Emperors, the Divine Sun Sacred Sect had only produced one Great Emperor, making its foundation much weaker.
The three disciples from the Divine Sun Sacred Sect also spotted Xu Zimo's group. The leading male disciple, a sword hanging from his waist, let out a cold snort and rode his Blazing Steed past them arrogantly.
The relationship between the Divine Sun Sacred Sect and the True Martial Sacred Sect was not good, mainly because the True Martial Sacred Sect was too powerful, being the absolute overlord of the Far West.
Even an Imperial Lineage Immortal Sect like the Divine Sun Sacred Sect had to be suppressed by them.
"Why so arrogant?" Xiao Guizi snorted indignantly.
"If you don't like them, just beat them up. Why tolerate it?" Xu Zimo said with a smile. "With me backing you, what's there to fear?"
"Senior Brother, I've been waiting for you to say that," Xiao Guizi chuckled. He looked at the three people who had already ridden ahead, his palm surging with spiritual energy.
Then, he drew his right hand through the air, and a blade shadow formed from spiritual energy slashed directly at the disciple.
The Blazing Steed ridden by the leading disciple of the Divine Sun Sacred Sect had its legs instantly severed.
The Blazing Steed let out a roar and collapsed to the ground.
The disciple, caught off guard, was thrown violently aside.
"What do you think you're doing?" the disciple asked, standing up, drawing the sword from his waist, and glaring angrily at Xu Zimo's group.
"We don't like you, so what?" Xiao Guizi took out his iron staff and shouted, charging at the disciple without another word.
Seeing the two fighting in the field, Xu Zimo rode his Desert Steed towards the female disciple of the Divine Sun Sacred Sect.
The other male disciple beside her saw this and quickly drew the curved saber from his back, blocking the female disciple and frowning at Xu Zimo.
"Kid, don't disturb Brother Zimo while he's wooing girls." Lin Ruhu stomped on the horse's saddle, launching himself into the air. His fists, filled with power, charged towards the male disciple.
The male disciple drew his saber to meet the attack, not backing down. His saber techniques were sharp and fierce as he clashed with Lin Ruhu.
The female disciple looked at Xu Zimo, her gaze wary. Her right hand was slightly on the hilt of her sword.
"May I ask your surname, young lady?" Xu Zimo approached with a smile.
"What do you want?" the female disciple asked warily, her horse backing away a couple of steps.
Xu Zimo let out a lewd whistle and licked his lips, saying, "Nice figure."
"It's none of your business," the female disciple quickly covered herself, her brows furrowing even deeper.
"What is your purpose for coming to Ten Mile Town?" Xu Zimo asked.
"Why should I tell you?" the female disciple retorted.
Xu Zimo smiled and said nothing more. The female disciple only saw a white light flash before her eyes, incredibly fast.
Drawing Sword Technique. A white sword energy struck the wrist of the male disciple fighting Xiao Guizi at a speed that was difficult for the naked eye to follow.
The male disciple felt a sharp pain in his wrist, and the sword in his hand dropped involuntarily.
Xiao Guizi's iron staff stopped three centimeters from the male disciple's head.
"If you don't tell me, he might die," Xu Zimo said with a smile.
"You're causing trouble. Do you want to start a war with my Divine Sun Sacred Sect?" the female disciple said with a grim expression.
"If you want war, then war it is. Do you think our True Martial Sacred Sect is afraid of you?" Xu Zimo said with amusement. "But I wonder if your Divine Sun Sacred Sect would dare to go to war with us for a few insignificant disciples?"
The female disciple's expression changed slightly. Her chest rose and fell unevenly. After a moment of silence, she said, "I can tell you, but you have to let my senior brother go first."
"You don't have the right to bargain," Xu Zimo shook his head. Xiao Guizi, standing nearby, retracted his iron staff and kicked the male disciple in the chest.
The male disciple cried out in pain and fell to the ground, looking at Xu Zimo with a mixture of rage and fear.
"Don't hit him, I'll tell you," the female disciple quickly replied. "A ghost has appeared in Steward Hu's house in Ten Mile Town. We received a sect mission to help catch it."
Xu Zimo was taken aback. These three were on the same mission as him. He stroked his chin. "Interesting. It seems Steward Hu didn't just post the mission at the True Martial Sacred Sect, but also at other sects."
When Xu Zimo completed this mission in his previous life, he hadn't encountered anyone from the Divine Sun Sacred Sect.
It seemed he had arrived too late in his previous life, and these people from the Divine Sun Sacred Sect had already died here.
Xu Zimo smiled and beckoned to Lin Ruhu and the other. "Let's go."
Watching Xu Zimo's group depart, the male disciple's expression was uncertain, as if he was contemplating something.
The Hu family was the largest family in Ten Mile Town. It was said that Steward Hu was incredibly wealthy, the richest man in the town.
Xu Zimo's group arrived at the Hu residence. After being announced by a servant, they soon saw a middle-aged man dressed in extremely gaudy clothing emerge.
The man wore a loose robe in a combination of blue, green, and yellow, and a green veiled hat on his head.
His complexion was somewhat sallow, and his eyes seemed swollen from long nights of staying up. He looked very haggard.
"Esteemed prodigies, you've finally arrived. This old man has been living in fear day and night. I almost didn't get to see you," Steward Hu said excitedly upon seeing Xu Zimo and his companions.
He led the three into the main hall. Xu Zimo smiled thoughtfully and said, "Steward Hu is too kind."
"Since the three of you have traveled far, I've already had meals prepared. Let's eat and talk," Steward Hu said with a smile, though his mood seemed to be quite low.
Xu Zimo nodded. As they were about to eat, a servant suddenly came in to announce that disciples from the Divine Sun Sacred Sect had also arrived.
"Perfect timing. It's fate that several prodigies could gather here together. I feel much more at ease now," Steward Hu smiled, then had the disciples from the Divine Sun Sacred Sect brought in.
The disciples from the Divine Sun Sacred Sect looked at Xu Zimo and the others, their expressions changing. The male disciple holding a sword said, "What are you guys doing here?"
"Do the prodigies know each other?" Steward Hu quickly stepped forward and explained the situation.
Afterward, he led everyone into a side hall and they took their seats. The individuals introduced themselves to one another.
From the Divine Sun Sacred Sect, the male disciple with the sword was named Wang Tao, the male disciple carrying a saber was named Xing Lin, and the female disciple was named Xiao Yu.
"Tell us what happened. The mission description wasn't very detailed," Xing Lin asked Steward Hu with a calm expression.
