That night, everyone rested in a warehouse.
Because Eren and Historia had been captured, Hange had hurried back with the other Survey Corps soldiers.
Beside the fire, Arthur was distracted, staring blankly at the roaring flames.
Mikasa watched Arthur with an aching heart, but she did not know how to comfort him.
After a while, Arthur stood up and headed straight outside.
"Arthur, what are you going to do?" Mikasa hurried after him.
"I'm going to bring Historia and Eren back." Arthur started out without looking back.
"I'm going with you." Ymir stood up to follow him as well.
"Wait! Arthur!" Armin hurried forward and grabbed Arthur.
"Let go of me, Armin. Every second we waste puts Historia and Eren in more danger," Arthur snapped, shaking off Armin's hand.
"I know you really want to rescue Historia and Eren, but we have no idea where they've been taken. Doing this won't accomplish anything!" Armin did his utmost to dissuade him.
"Arthur, I believe we'll find a way. Please, just wait a little longer." Mikasa hugged Arthur and pleaded with him too.
At Mikasa's pleas, Arthur softened and nodded his agreement.
Then, as if something had suddenly occurred to him, Arthur strode straight over to where Reeves and the others were being held.
He seized Reeves by the collar and hauled him up, then questioned him with an utterly terrifying look in his eyes.
"Reeves, can you contact those people from the Central Military Police Brigade who approached you...?"
"I..." Reeves hesitated, but the next second, Arthur thrust his hand into his rib area and began torturing him for an answer.
"Will you talk or not?!" Arthur was like a volcano on the verge of erupting.
Reeves broke out in a cold sweat from the pain, grimacing as he hastily nodded.
