The fall semester was drawing to a close, and Cassell College had entered revision week. All classes had stopped. The professors holed up in their offices writing exams, while the students holed up in their dorms and the library, poring over books.

But Lu Mingfei was the sole exception. Principal Angers had granted him a special exemption from exams, so he spent every day either playing games in his dorm or spending time with his girlfriend. Opinions on Lu Mingfei's privileges were divided into several camps across Cassell College. Some were green with envy, some thought it was only natural, and some wondered why the S-Rank still hadn't started a harem...

Someone started a discussion on the Nightwatch Forum titled [The S-Rank gets full marks without taking exams. How are us mere mortals supposed to cope?]. The most-liked reply underneath read, "If you can do it, go ahead."

Tortoise and Little Yellow Duck hadn't logged on today, and Lu Mingfei didn't feel like gaming either. Tortoise had been busy lately, apparently with a business trip to Hakone in Japan coming up. Lu Mingfei remembered his own trip to Hakone, remembered Nono holding him and crying, telling him to stop looking if he couldn't find it, that she would look out for him.

As he dwelled on it, Lu Mingfei suddenly felt agitated. He simply pulled on his coat and left the dorm, planning to take a walk by the lake.

Passing the common room on the dorm's ground floor, he saw something rather unexpected.
