"Excuse me... what are you doing?" In Norton Hall's lobby, a short boy looked at the gaming equipment scattered across the floor in confusion.
"This is synchronization training. We use the rhythm of music to develop matching movement patterns on the dance mats," Lu Mingfei explained.
"What about these?" The short boy pointed at the console and controllers. "Entertainment equipment for relaxing?"
"No," Lu Mingfei said solemnly. "We use fighting games to learn each other's instinctive attack patterns, so we can coordinate instinctively with our partners in actual combat."
"Hmm... does it really work?" the short boy asked doubtfully.
"Hey!" Nono walked over. "What are you doing here? The makeup exam was over ages ago."
"What makeup exam? I scored sixty-three in Magical Mechanical Design," the short boy said proudly. "Professor Mans was moved by my dedication to studying, and he's already taken me on as his assistant!"
"I also have to thank Lu Mingfei for putting pressure on me."
"What pressure did I put on you?"
"Out, out." Nono hurriedly pushed the boy out the door. "Don't interrupt our special training!"
The door shut with a bang, and Nono turned to Lu Mingfei. "Shall we continue?"
"Were you up to something using my name?" Lu Mingfei asked suspiciously.
"What could I possibly have been up to?" Nono said irritably. "You're the one holding us back. Zero and Caesar got in sync after just one or two tries. This was your own idea, so why can't you even do it yourself?"
"Is that my fault?" Lu Mingfei retorted. "You're the one who won't cooperate. What happened to your profiling?"
"I don't want to profile you. I'm going to get results through my own abilities!" Nono said confidently.
