It was a little embarrassing. Lu Mingfei had originally planned to leave Cassell that evening, attend the meeting, and then return to campus before reporting his "investigation progress" to the principal the next day. In the end, he himself had pushed the room key aside and abandoned his original plan to return.
When he returned to campus that morning, he went straight to the Principal's Office instead of his dorm.
When Lu Mingfei arrived, Angers wore a mysterious smile the whole time. "You managed to miss neither a young man's night nor morning tea with me."
Even the principal cared about gossip. This school was finished.
"I got in touch with Ronald Tang again recently. I told him the school was very concerned about the Constantine incident and wanted to talk to the family behind him. He agreed."
"Oh? What did they say?" Angers grew serious.
"The Shide Family is actually only middle management. Next week, besides Old Tang and Shadw, someone higher up will be there too. They're also interested in establishing limited contact with the academy, exchanging some intelligence, and confirming that neither side is hostile toward the other for the time being," Lu Mingfei said.
"This organization," Angers said. "Have they invited you to join?"
Lu Mingfei sighed. "Old Tang told me the organization has been paying close attention to me, but they aren't thinking of having me join yet. After all, even without joining, I still slayed a dragon according to their script."
Something flickered in Angers's eyes. There was no telling what he was thinking. After a while, he said, "I want to meet this organization alone, on the school's behalf."
"I'll be sure to pass that on."
"All right, you'd better head back. There may be a surprise waiting for you." A meaningful smile
