"Come on, drink!" Nono downed the vodka in her glass with gusto. They had already opened their second bottle.
After the three of them shared a bottle of vodka, the atmosphere gradually loosened up. Nono grew very attentive, constantly pouring more drinks.
"Go easy on the drinks," Lu Mingfei advised.
"It's only been a few glasses!" Nono pointed at him and jeered to Zero, "This Lu Mingfei is such a lightweight."
"From the sound of it, you can still drink more?" Zero looked Nono over, her eyes skeptical.
"Are you kidding? I'm an amazing drinker, okay?" Nono filled everyone's glasses, then held hers very low in a show of humility. "Your Majesty Zero~"
"You seem to be in high spirits." Zero raised her glass and clinked it against Nono's.
"Of course! I haven't been this happy in ages." Nono slapped the table, accidentally striking the edge of the cake plate and sending a fork flying. It clattered to the floor.
Zero bent down to pick up the fork, rinsed it in the kitchen, and set it back beside Nono's hand.
"I'm telling you, I used to be surrounded by animals. It wasn't until I came to Cassell College that I finally saw a few actual people," Nono rambled.
"I didn't follow that," Lu Mingfei said.
"I mean, pretty much everyone in my family is a beast in human skin. They all deserve to die." Nono toyed with her glass. "Back when I lived at home, I always had nightmares. I couldn't remember them when I woke up. I just knew I'd been having a really terrifying dream. It felt awful, a hundred times worse than having nightmares at school."
"You still have nightmares at school?" Lu Mingfei asked.
"Of course. After I met you, all my nightmares were about you,"
