Chapter 241: A meeting
Lu Mingfei blew the Spirit Calling Bell. Light appeared in the air, and a spectral horse came through the mist. It was a powerfully built spirit steed with horns on its head, a saddle on its back, a silver mane, and golden eyes.
Lu Mingfei leaned down and wrapped his arms around its neck, pressing his cheek against its forehead. The spirit steed lowered its head docilely, a gentle light in its eyes.
"Long time no see, Torrent."
A knight clad in the Warrior's Armor returned from the forest, riding a powerful warhorse with a dark blue greatsword on his back and two... dolls on his shoulders?
That was the strangely incongruous sight that greeted Gen Chisei.
A boy in a miniature suit sat on the left shoulder, gazing into the distance with his chin in his hand and his legs swinging. A one-eyed girl stood on the other side, holding the knight's helmet as she looked imposingly at Gen Chisei.
"Lu Mingfei?" For a moment, Gen Chisei did not know whom to look at.
"Herzog is dead, along with the curse on your people." Lu Mingfei passed a hand over his face. Fire flared over his helmet, revealing his face beneath the flames. He smiled faintly. "Is EVA's plan going smoothly?"
"As far as I know, Japan has settled down. Things aren't over with the Secret Party yet." Like a conscientious secretary, Gen Chisei respectfully presented all the intelligence he had already printed out to Lu Mingfei with both hands.
