Zhao Si took notes in his notebook. This was already his second one. After he had recorded the story of Serosh from memory in the first notebook, there had been few pages left.

This time, to record the Eternal City and the Nox people, he chose to start from scratch in a new notebook.

In the very center of the first page, he wrote "Numen" in large letters. If he were to make a mind map, "Numen" would have to be at its center.

On the reverse, he drew the Effigy, then began making notes around "Numen":

Numen-Eternal City

Numen-Black Knife Group (Black Knife Assassins)

Numen-Marika

Numen-Nox people

Numen-Nightfolk?

Zhao Si thought for a moment, then somewhat hesitantly added:

Numen-Radagon?

The point of writing this was that, although Radagon was Marika, they were also separate individuals. The two could not be equated. Their thinking and patterns of behavior were completely different.

But their bodies were both "Numen." That fact alone left plenty to work with.

The Black Knife Assassins were all women, and all Numen, just like Marika. In other words, they were all Numen, just like Radagon. Except Radagon was not a woman.

As for the Nightfolk, they were one of the character templates players could choose when creating a character in the game. Their description said something along the lines of: people said to come from underground, with silvery-white blood.

Yet the character template really was just a template. It affected nothing, and there was no silver blood either.

But since it had been written down, it inevitably invited connections.

Then Zhao Si wrote: if the Numen were the underground Nox people, they might have lived underground from the very beginning.

The reason was that there were no ruins or remnants of the Eternal City on the surface.
