"Huh? Himeko, why are you suddenly asking something like that..."
"What is happiness? Let me think..."
Caught by Himeko's sudden question, March 7th knitted her delicate brows slightly, a hint of confusion appearing on her fair, adorable face.
"That's such a hard question to answer. If you ask me, every day you live to the fullest is happiness!"
"Waking up from the Six-Phased Ice, boarding the Astral Express to adventure across so many worlds, experiencing lots of interesting things, making so many memories unlike anything I'd had before, and then meeting that big jerk Lin Feng..."
"So I'll treasure every day I have now and consider everything I see and feel a form of happiness!"
After a moment of silence, March 7th slowly spoke, her expression utterly earnest.
"I see. That's our Little March. You really do have a clear understanding of happiness..."
Her answer was somewhat unexpected, and Himeko froze for a moment before her expression returned to normal, a warm smile on her face.
There were two paths to happiness, and March 7th was clearly suited to the second.
By lowering one's expectations and threshold for happiness, one would feel that every remaining day of life was filled with happiness and joy. According to legend, fish had only seven seconds of memory, so even if they lived in the same stretch of water forever, they would never grow bored. Instead, everything would always feel fresh and joyful. Was that not a kind of happiness too?
After drifting for who knew how many years in that mysterious cosmic ice, March 7th had awakened with all her former memories gone. That was why she had grown fond of taking pictures. She simply wanted to record every day of her beautiful life, never wanting to forget anything that happened afterward.
